Sorry that's such a mess!
Sorry that's such a mess!
Man: Do you get wafers with it?
Salesman: Course you don't get bloody wafers with it, it's a bloody albatross isn't it ...
Henderson has arguably had the better ammunition over the past few years too. Nicholls is the better trainer in my eyes, especially with chasers.

It's all to do with the ammo surely?

Sorry Muttley I was looking at the NHF as millions not 100's thousands
Formely Fist of Fury
You're spot on Tiggers both trainers have some fantastically rich owners.
The fact only Michael Dickinson and Peter Easterby have managed to secure the title since the 70's is living proof being based down south is a huge advatage.
Gordon Richards, Penrith, was a brilliant hands on trainer and never did win the championship and there's been a few
It is very much down to hard cash available and if you buy enough well bred horses is only a matter of time before you end up with a top class horse who gives you a huge advatage.
If Red Rum for example had been with Gordon Richards he would have certainly won a Championship
David Elsworth was lucky enough to come across Desert Orchid and he did.
Best trainer is really a bit silly........One guy trains Kauto Star and wins a King George another get a rogue, a real pig of a thing and somehow manages to sweeten him up and win a seller.....who is the better trainer?
Formely Fist of Fury
Henderson would never have won two King Georges with Silviniaco Conti. What's been most impressive about Nicholls in the past two years is that he's doing it with average horses in comparison to the Kauto/Denman/Master Minded era.
I'm clever enough to ask the questions i'm too stupid to answer
But the training of kauto star was impeccable and that season when he ran so many times was as memorable a campaign as we have seen. Smaller trainers have had talent and fcked up. We can think of a few can't we.
I still believe that denmans Hennessy win was possibly the most spine tingling training performance of my lifetime in either code but the resurrections of see more business and tidal bay were quite outstanding too.
If NJH brings Sprinter back to win the QMCC that will be some training performance in my book but he needs more than that to be considered the equal of PFN IMO
Joanna Morgan latest to leave training as can only make a meagre living
Tom Segal today describes PN as the best NH trainer ever. Streets ahead of the others currently. Cant say about the first but correct about the second
(love typing this because you know who would be seething reading that...)

So you're a self confessed sh!t stirrer? Tell us something we don't know
Formely Fist of Fury
No. But there are quite a few who have had a seeming strange downer on him here over the years whilst lauding less adept trainers as "geniuses". its the old mistake of people seeing what they want because of a certain image. A somewhat bolshy straight talking policemans son from the south of england doesnt fit that image
but hes the best
Agreed Clive.
I was tempted with the price of Ibis De Rheu for the Triumph ahead of his expected debut this Saturday but a quick look back at the stable tour in November made it perfectly clear that however much he was thought of he wouldn't be heading to the Triumph.
Complete contrast to another trainer I could mention.
However if he does line up there...
There is an interesting interview with Mullins on the Newstalk podcast.
edgt (23rd January 2015)
Mullins has 77 entries in the four novice hurdles at The Festival
It's only about 25 horses though, and they won't all win
Only 25 !
That was the full Irish contingent not too many years ago.
