Back in the Game Slim. MOTM betting is back. Well kind of back!
Ladbrokes and Paddy Power have priced up the England v Uraguay game.

    Rooney FIFA MOTM 8/1 Ladbrokes

Suarez is the 3/1 Fav. But I just can't believe he is fully fit. I saw you posting on another thread earlier that you backed England so you obviously fancy them tonight. If that's the case then 8/1 Rooney seems like the value bet to me here (He's only 5/1 with PP). The amount of media attention he is already getting this tournament, granted in a negative light, is unbelievable. If he starts central tonight and has a positive impact on an England victory, they'll all love him again and the MOTM votes will follow!

What do we make of tonight?

Are Uruguay as bad as the first game? I can't think Suarez is very fit if he couldn't come off the bench the other day.

I wanted to lump on England but the price is going. For a game that was going to be even stevens (ish) in terms of odds, to have one 11/10 and one nearly 3/1 is tempting me towards Uruguay.

Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Rooney now cut to 6/1 with Ladbrokes.

Best price 7/1 with Paddy Power

UPDATE: Sterling now 4/1 with all 3 other bookies with a Market but still 7/1 with Paddy Power.
Can't imagine it'll last long if you fancy him......

In fairness, they are all being backed......
    Rooney now best price 5/1.
Gerrard cut from 10/1 to 6/1

England are going to win, but the value is gone.

    Uruguay are muck.

What do you think of Suarez and possible impact he could make though? England's defence is gash.

I actually answered that question to a mate over email this morning.

Sure, Suarez might jump off the treatment table and do his magic.

But I have seen enough injury comebacks to know that this is a very rare occurance, particularly when it's a seemingly rushed comeback with a big-game deadline.

It is football, so anything can happen. But I can't see it.

As Far as I know, Suarez's injury/surgery was exactly the same as Vidal from Chile. They both had minor knee surgery for a meniscus injury.
Big difference is Vidal had his Surgery on the 7th May, over weeks before Suarez had his Surgery on 22nd May.

Bearing that in mind, Suarez should have no chance of being fit tonight. Vidal is over 2 weeks ahead of him in the process and he needed an hour on the pitch in the first game(Suarez not even had 1 minute) to run off the ring rust ... Vidal was much better last night but probably still not fully match fit.

Anyone think it's a smoke screen by Uruguay... Anyone think Suarez won't start?

That is what my rational side tells me.

The thing I keep thinking is are Uruguay really as bad as their first game? Because if they are, England will take them to the cleaners. And evens still a good price.

I may also add England to my outright portfolio - I like their route to the semis.

I could see him not starting because they haven't said he would. However, he will want to start and they effectively have nothing to lose as they must win tonight or they're out.

    They have everything to lose.

If Suarez is not fit, they're more likely to lose by playing him ahead of Forlan.

Costa didn't look fit to me for Spain, and was awful.
