Let me summarise for you, so that you don't have to go through the agony of reading it for yourself.

    1. 48-hour decs a good thing.
    2. I can't be arsed looking for ante-post value.
    3. 'Going' bets should be settled after the second and not the first race. (trying to understand his argument, is like trying to understand an Esher painting).
    4. Ruby Walsh is a good jockey.
    5. It's hard to predict how Faugheen & Douvan will fare.
    6. The Champion Hurdle result is uncertain at this stage.
    7. How big will the diamond-screens at the course be? (I shi*t you not)
    8. Drink responsibly
    9. The Gold Cup is an intriguing race.
    10. Here are some favourites I idly selected whilst picking the fluff out if my belly-button.

    Fu*ck.

    Right.

    Indeedyo.

The brothers and I are now retired. We meet up once a month for snooker and lunch.

My bus leaves at 7am, gets into town just after 8am so I have two hours to kill. Most of those two hours are spent in the nearby Wetherspoons for a cooked breakfast, severial cupsa tea and filling in the Metro crossword and sudoku, then it's across to the bookie's to browse the Racing Post to satisfy myself that I'm not paying over two squid for a pile of shite.

    Then across to the snooker.

It's a good way to spend a day. I recommend it.

Deepest Lanarkshire. The 7am is the workers' express bus but it accepts my pass. Normally bus and train to get get into town would be over 90 mins. I'm happy to get in early and enjoy a quiet time on my own in the pub...

    Question:

Does the RP Ultimate membership, which is £26 per month, always include the digital newspaper download ?

I currently pay £29.99 for the iPad version but I've taken the free Ultimate membership for one month offer and have realized that if I have that - which I can still download to my iPad each day - I also get the "benefit" of the additional online features.

Seems a no brainer to switch from what I can see. Admittedly reading the digital newspaper isn't quite as aesthetically pleasing but it's a 10.5" iPad so not so bad and it does have extra detail.
Alcohol, because no good story ever started with "I was eating this salad..."

The latest instalment of the Racing Post's unremitting descent into the shi*tter is:

'Suits You; Ten Cheltenham winners who lived up to their names'. Here's a taster:

    1 French Ballerina
    ......
the prize goes to the ultra-classy French Ballerina, who danced away from no fewer than 29 rivals to score for Susan Magnier, Pat Flynn and Graham Bradley.

    Fu*ck.

    Right.

    Off.

    We reached 'Maximum Post' today.

    The denouement.

    End game.

Just before 10am this morning, the Post issued a "Breaking News" tweet "confirming that Willie Mullins had told them that Douvan would run in the Ryanair on Thursday, and would miss the QMCC".

You can imagine the chaos which ensued.

Around twenty minutes later, the Post were forced to issue a "clarification" (rather than a "Correction", you see), that in fact NO decision had been made on Douvan's target, but that the Ryanair was under serious consideration.

In terms of impact, Douvan's Festival target - should there even be one - is materially-significant to the Champion Chase and Ryanair betting markets. That the Post - who only employ Mullins to write a fu*cking column for them! - could fail to get this story checked-out in triplicate before issuing their tweet, is yet further evidence of how execrable an entity it has become. It does not serve its customer; rather it serves as the mouth-piece of trainers and bookmakers, and in the worst-case scenario, is potentially complicit in the deception of those who fund it i.e. the punter.

It is a contemptible disgrace, and whilst I'm sure there are some hard-working people on its payroll, the management team would resign en-masse, if they had any sense of responsibility. In the expectation that none of them have the conkers to do this, they can......

    Fu*ck.

    Right.

    Off.

And now of all times, the fvcking cvnt of a shite site has developed a glitch preventing people - well me anyway - from accessing form.

The site developed a serious glitch going into royal Ascot last season and they said they were taking steps to ensure it didn't happen again.

    Cvnts.

Truly unbelievable. Just called Customer Services: they are 'not available'

However, should you be one of the .0001% interested in Huntingdon and Southwell on Wednesday, those links are working. Rank incompetence.

Unbelievable and blatant revisionism from the Post today, in one of their Cue Card features.

Peter Thomas has this to say about Cue Card's King George:

"Silviniaco Conti made the running but was a spent force four from home and pulled up; Vautour, the young pretender, seemed to be travelling with a venom to match his reputation when he hit the front at the 11th and was still leading when he jumped the last; Don Cossack evidently didn’t have the cruising speed of his young rival but stayed on to challenge two fences out; yet Brennan sat with confidence, tracking Vautour, taking a pull, keeping one eye behind him and the other on the strong-running leader until he made his play."

Contrast this with the actual Race Comments:

"Tracked leaders, progress 10th, chased leader 12th, shaken up before 3 out, no impression and just headed for 2nd when left in it again 2 out, hard ridden and closed last, stayed on gamely under pressure to lead post"

Cue Card's King George victory was a mighty performance whichever way it is viewed, and it does not need Thomas's misleading, misty-eyed, bollocks to prop it up.

The Post are clearly now just making it up as they go along. Can this lot actually fall any further?
