That's a shame. Thought he had a good few years left of being the go-to big race jockey. Hopefully training's gain.

Building 40 new stable blocks behind his house, let's hope he can fill them.

Reckon he'll come out of retirement in the future, they always do

    In all Johnny Murtagh rode in 7116 races, won 1228 races, Placed 2nd 981 times , 3rd 865 and 4th 715 times .

He won £45 million 350 thousand&363 quid in his lifetime riding. Not bad a 10% plus Ballydoye and Agas retainers.

On February 21st Purple Fling was PTS at the age of 23. By Music Boy out of Divine Fling he ran in 69 races winning 10 and was placed in 13 trained mainly by Andrew Ried. He spent 16 years with us at The Racehorse Sanctuary and will be very sadly missed.

Would like to say goodbye to Easy Mover (Ire) by Bluebird who had to be PTS after foaling complications on 16th February. She has left behind an orphaned filly foal by Hellvelyn who has now been fostered

Cue Card's injury has turned out to be a stress fracture of the pelvis. Won't delay any re-appearance next season.
