Derby winner Anthony Van Dyke was pts after fracturing a fetlock in the Melbourne Cup. It’s not got a great reputation for fatalities has it?

Aiden O’Brien must be wondering about the sense of sending any over - he can’t beat Joseph and he loses one often. Such a shame seeing him pull up like that.

I think he’s the only Derby winner I can recall having died while still in training?

1921 winner Humorist died while having his portrait painted by Albert Munnings shortly after winning at Epsom; post mortem the horse was found to have tuberculosis.

Shame. Doubt we’ll ever see him dining at the top table now

Gutted. I was into him quite heavily for both the Hennessy and Gold Cup.

This has put me off any more a/p betting until the NRNB concessions kick in.

    Christ.

My first anti post bets gone already, I’ve got many multiples around him for the Hennessy. Also a few doubles for the Hennessy and Gold Cup.

Absolutely gutted about Topofthegame, really think he could be top class, but 2 seasons out of the game is surely going to take it's toll.

Has a horse ever come back from a tendon injury and performed within a stone of their previous best? Struggling to think of any

Remittance Man cuffed Deep Sensation and Wonder Man in the Emblem at Kempton, after 18 months off with a tendon injury, but Fitzgerald put him on the deck 3 out in the Champion Chase the next month. Was never the same horse after in the couple more races he ran.
