A good friend of mine sourced Lilbitluso in Ireland and owned part of him until just before his Cheltenham win a few years ago - gutted for him, Steve, John & Justine the others involved at the time, Derek Malam who's a top point-to-point man here in the NW and Joe who's never backward in telling you when he fancies one.

    RIP

Retirement for forum bred ( Songsheet, not that she comes on here these days!) Novabridge - they are looking for a home for him if anyone horsey is interested - he will be exactly like his dam and have the most wonderful temperament and will be a cracking fun horse for someone. Sadly six months too early for me.

Thank you everyone he wasn't just a horse he was my friend my pride n joy I nearsed him back all summer from he's tendon injury liveing the dream off this one day the aintree foxhunters what he had done upto today this season was only 70pc today he was 120 ready to run the race off he's life he would have not taken a step backwards from whear he was in the race .hes work rider collapsed and died only six weeks ago and now our beloved hutch has gone .this is killing me now .

This was the post that Joe posted on the Jumping for Fun forum (point to point forum) and it just sums up how really sad it is for connections. As Martin said, he was never backward in telling us about his horses and was singing from the rooftops about this one for a long time. Doubly sad is the fact that his regular rider had sadly passed away only six weeks ago and yesterday would have been her birthday.

Glad he has got out in one piece, been a grand horse for them.

Mind you, they do parade a lot of the champions there, so they will just chuck him in that I guess. Be a shame if he’s been injured - hopefully it’s just an “enough is enough and the ground is shit” decision

I suppose the day had to come. They can retire him knowing that he has been one of the very best and most popular horses of our era.

Wonderful horse over the years, I remember backing him when he won the Bumper, paid something silly like £80 on the tote!
Have a great retirement old chap.

    Good old Cue Card.

An absolutely top-class chaser at his best, and a tremendous credit to his connections. I hope he has a very long and comfortable retirement.

Apparently they are planning on parading him there still so people will still get to see him. Wise decision as he hadn't worked very well and he's bowing out in one piece.

One of my favourite ever horses, loved him since he won the Champion bumper, he's been an amazing horse for his connections.

Great that he goes out in one piece and I hope he has a long and very happy retirement.

    Happy retirement Cue Card.

Remember cheering him home with Grey in Ryanair Chase, commenting it was great to see him get his day in the sun.
The story was only starting then and glad we had so many years of cheering him on since.
    Happy retirement Cue Card.

Took a while to warm to him but he showed me

    Top class
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Sad to read- Giants Causeway has died. Probably one of my most favourite Flat horses ever:
