    On this day in 1991 Cool Ground won the Jim Ford Chase at Wincanton. Later that year he was fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup before winning it in 1992.

    On this day in 1991 Kim Bailey's Docklands Express took the Racing Plus Chase at Kempton under Anthony Tory, beating Cuddy Dale by a neck.

    In 1973 Miss Aureole Sinclair the 1st woman to hold a training license trained Brantridge Farmer to win the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell, horse followed up the next year for Fulke Walwyn, a great front running hurdler and later Chaser.

    On this day in 2000 the great Dubai Millenium won the Al Maktoum Challenge before going on to win The Dubai World Cup and The Prince of Wales - the only blemish on his 10 race career was the 1999 Epsom derby his only race further than 10f - he won all his other 9 races by an accumulative distance of 47 1/2L. He won on hvy, soft, gd, gf and dirt including 4 group/grade 1's.
