Speaking of the Peterborough Chase, what's happened to it?

A red letter day in horse ownership/leasership for me.
I had taken a 10% lease in In Bloom for the winter. 1K euro for a share in a Montjeu filly that could jump seemed an okay deal !
On Troytown Chase Day she duly p****d in in 3yo hurdle beating Chill and Bat Masterson after making a horlicks of the last hurdle; I could not believe my eyes. The race dvd made for sweet dreams every night for months !
Alas she got a minor injury and never quite regained that level of form.
She did run on Thyestes, Irish Hennessey, Power Gold Cup and La Touche days that season so we had some fun that winter.
Chill and Bat M finished 6th and 8th in Fred Winter Hurdle and every flower pot in Cheltenham bears the legend "Cheltenham In Bloom " just to tease me !

There's nothing like it when they win on debut, it gives you licence to dream, for a little while at least.

I remember Travado, as a lovely horse of mine named Freddy Owen after my father, and trained by permit holder Graham Roach, a good friend of mine and famous for Viking Flagship amongst others, came a fast finishing fourth to him in his bumper at Sandown.Huge promise by this Le Moss gelding which didn't quite fulfil ,went on to be trained badly by Liam Codd, and finished up winning at Leicester when trained by John White. Oh the dreams.

I got my first taste of Dundalk under lights courtesy of Espartano, ridden by Paul Townend.
The track was too quick for the horse and far too cold for me !
Some place though; pity about the crowds (or lack of them)
