That doesn't make sense tbh. I can only assume that Sky are paying RUK in effect RUK will continue sending out SD pictures just for Virgin?? There is much more bandwidth for HD on Virgin. So the only reason to do this would be to try and take customers away from Virgin. Also it doesn't mention RUK Anywhere...will that be in HD?

Just see that now. €2.40 increase in Ireland per month. Meeh, I can live with that.

I'll be about ready to tell RUK to poke it up their hole, if HD isn't going to on Virgin.

I don't actually know if Virgin are going to increase the price of Racing UK, at least these days I can get RUK on my laptop and iPad using Virgin TVAnywhere. Previously I couldn't as Virgin wouldn't release their customer details to Racing UK, presumably so that they didn't pass on them on to Sky. What I might do though is cancel RUK after Aintree and take out a new subscription around October time, who knows I might even get a half price offer.

I heard that as well and thought exactly the same as you. What a waste of breath.

    My immediate post-race note:

Royal Regatta did pretty much everything right bar win. He was just a bit unlucky that Bennys Mist was also in the race and probably forced him into doing too much. I did look at Dare Me because of his rating on last year’s form (when I thought he might have gone close but for falling) but Cawley didn’t strike me as high up the pecking order in the yard and I just had so much confidence in Royal Regatta that I really thought he only needed to act in the ground to win. I suspect the ground might have been a factor but I’m more convinced by the doing-too-much angle. I’ll rate him better than the bare form. The winner was a proper Williams job, though, and did get a superb ride.

Did she seriously say that? Legendary.

    She did.

in her defence, she once responded to an email I sent the Ch4 email address, so isn't a bad egg

I wouldn't find at all hard to believe the recent comment that off screen she is a lovely person and I like that she tips big-price outsiders but she's been doing the job long enough to be a lot slicker than she is.

The fact remains that those four channels remain much the most watched especially by older viewers - apart from Sky Sports for my Dad I do not think my parents ever go beyond the main four channels unless told about something on BBC4 in advance !

He came across well - I used to think he was a bit of a prick but I've revised my opinion of late.

Well you don't get to where he is without having a ruthless streak but I got the impression he's in it more or the fun than the money, or certainly the betting.

Hendo's yard is definitely a gambling operation so they're careful in what they give away. I tend to take much of Henderson at face value when he's discussing prospects at the start of the season, especially his top, exposed horses as they don't really have much to hide about them.

But you'd never be able to tell at the start of the season which are his Coral Cup horses, for example.
