They have been in terrible form since Cheltenham, but he did have a winner in Wexford last night, so are 100% in the last 20 hours

Racing generally re-scheduled next weekend, with Newbury and the Scottish Grand National day being held on Sunday. ITV to cover both. Meetings being held on Saturday will not race whilst DOE's funeral is being held.

    She knew
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

    Seriously????????????

    Fuxake.

It's a private funeral. There shouldn't be any coverage of it.

david jennings RP column re: ruby and ap on ITV.

not wrong is it, ruby is the best thing to add to the punditry game in as long as i've followed it and mccoy just doesn't look like he even wants to be there. the tiger roll stuff the other day was just odd.

Ruby is in a different class to the ex-jockeys, just for the very simple reason that he is trying. McCoy is lost on TV and would be far happier hanging around with JP, Frank and the rest of the gang.

I think McCoy can't be himself/say what he actually wants to a lot of the time for worrying about offending anyone, and that he has no one with him , like Walsh/Blake, who know what they are talking about and the conversation would bounce between him and someone else. Cumani is just a link bod : 'what do you think Champ? Last time he pulled up, do you think he'll go better this time? ' etc. Adds no value and completely inane - anyone could do that job. Mick Fitz also get the impression sometimes doesn't actually say what he wants, but also with him that he has always done the homework and can't actually contribute anything of value so waffles. Chapman is just annoying and thinks he's right all the time and shouts over people who think over wise and McCoy looks sometimes as if he would gladly smack him one for being rude.

Priceless when Francesca said on Saturday that it was nice the Irish horses had “clovers” on their rumps. Mick Fitz could hardly contain himself

It was along the lines of being glad Tiger Roll wasn't there as he doesn't deserve to be compared with Red Rum.

I can't see him getting any free Ryanair flights in the near future.

Has faults and some weak links (Gleeson/Hannon) but the Walsh Russell combo on TV is as good as it gets. Streets ahead.

Jane Mangan usually plays a blinder also.
Methinks that Cheltenham mishap years ago was the making of her.

What is noticeable is in the reruns of the race, they go through the minor thoughts that go though top jockeys minds and are able to articulate it in a way you hoped ex jockeys in the past would have done. The Chacun/Allaho rerun was an education. Got a little dig in at David Bass for no real reason for letting Allaho through - First Flow was legless at the time - but they really add a huge amount to the coverage. It hasnt taken Ruby long to zoom past the rest in this area. I dont mind Jane. I think she comes across as a little pleased with herself every so often, but its a tiny and unfair quibble. She is a good broadcaster.

Russell looks like he is still in pain, holding himself very awkwardly. If Envoi Allen doesnt come back to himself or if he no longer has the ride, I'd wonder if he will come back.
