Thoughts on Cartmel Martin? Struggling to get away from Cygnet to be honest.

Cygnet the one to beat for sure, Railway Dillon far too short and likely to weaken late on here as think this will be too far for him.

I've taken a chance on Abbeyview at a price, had hoped that Third Of The Third would drift but that's not happened. Abbeyview was runner-up to TOTT at Tabley last month and I think there is likely to be more to come from Sheila Crow's horse at this trip. There's no shame in being beaten by Sam Cavallaro in a three horse race on quick ground as he was at Eyton on his penultimate outing and he has a top jockey in Paddy Gerety up.

    Nailed it as usual, I.S.

A grand run by Abbeyview, and great value for his 4.6 Place odds.

    Many thanks.

My post was a tentative guess in the hope that the King would pronounce me correct or incorrect!

Initial thoughts - if Drom doesn't win it will probably be one of the outsiders who goes in. Opera Og's best form has come with plenty of cut in the ground and his rider is having his first ride over regulation fences I believe/

Son Of Flicka is nowhere near the horse he was and should be nearer 14/1 than 5's. I wouldn't be a huge fan of Keki Buku either at the current price which basically leaves us with the outsiders.

Blackthirteen (25/1) had Son Of Flicka three lengths back in third when winning a Confined at Hornby Castle and had every chance when departing late on against the prolific Oaklands Bobby (won his last three) last time out. Blackthirteen looks to lack stamina in points so this drop in trip should suit and while we're taking a bit of a chance on the jockey with Jessica Gillam having yet to ride a winner under rules he looks at least double the price he should be and is well worth an each-way bet here.

Paint the clouds and current event looks a straightforward double. Mr Mercurial each way earlier on.

Waiting for the King to speak before betting though!

Ideally I'd like to see how the ground is for the first before punting.

There's a couple I like at big prices but they really need genuine good ground to have a chance I'd say - in the first the favourite should win, it's been competing in Open company of late and decent enough Open's too.

Dabinett Moon would interest me if the ground was genuinely good but I've a feeling it's more likely to be g/s or soft.

Cheers Jarv - hopefully not got into the ground too much as don't think some of these 3m4f races at Stratford are that much of a test on decent ground.

He looks short to me - I don't think he'll be able to dominate like he did at Kempton and if anything takes him on for the lead I can see him weakening from two out.

Would be keen on the chances of Silver Story who we know stays well and though there are recent concerns around his well being having had just the one run this season he still looks worth a bet at around 50/1 while Joker Choker would likely have been second here but for coming down late on last year and is another who's available at a big price.

Pluralism of Ideas and the prosperity of any land are intertwined. Freedom of minds and skill of intellect to 'think the unthinkable' is how humanity has progressed; when minds are incarcerated nothing endures.

Struggling with what exactly Lord Fingal has beaten in his Hunter Chase outings, can't do any more than win but the form doesn't look great to me.

Following Dreams looks the most solid option here as not many of these would have the class to finish in the frame in the Foxhunters, Mr Mercurial would be the one most likely to do it but this years renewal would have been a year too soon for him.

Of the outsiders assuming it's decent enough ground - can only assume that's the case given Dabinett Moon just won then Star Of Massini @ around 200/1 e/w on Betfair would be my idea of a fair bet. He was only third in a Maiden HC last time out and has a bit to do with the principles on bare form and ratings but he's always looked like he'd appreciate a proper trip and the ground went against him really at Fontwell.

Connies Cross I like but looks so slow I couldn't have him unless it developed into a true stamina test and I think that Wayupinthesky is probably as tricky a ride at Mr Mercurial.
