Why Double Shuffle? Proven to be outclassed many a time now. I want to be with him but his form is distinctly average at this level.

Price. He was 4s at Hills on Thursday evening. It's such a bad race with just Def Red to beat that I couldn't resist. I admit that KG run is an outlier in his overall profile but he did run well in the Amlin before that. The rain is a bit of a downer I admit.

Yalltari in the novice chase at Chepstow. 7-1 just way too big ( IMO)

I'm thinking a bit more left-field for the Many Clouds race.

For me, Wetherby was Definitly Red's Gold Cup and I reckon he'd have been let down a bit after that so I'm half-expecting him to be slightly undercooked for this.

Double Shuffle's King George form obviously stands out but as pointed out elsewhere none of his other form is close to that so he might be over-rated a tad.

The rag can't be taken seriously.

This leaves One For Arthur on his comeback run. I thought he was very impressive in the National, so much so that I suggested he could be aimed at the Gold Cup with decent place prospects. Obviously there's every chance he'll be looked after today but with [my own] doubts over the other two and Scu called up for the ride he might be overpriced.

It's a race to leave alone for me but I couldn't resist a small interest at 8/1.

    What are you backing Today?

Missed Approach has a tendency to clout one or two but has plenty of ability on a going day. Hopefully Sam Waley-Cohen can get him into a nice rhythm and enhance his record over these fences. 10/1 with Hills taken (7 places)

Be having a decent few bets today trying to get back on track.

12.40 Wetherby, Overawed it's around 3.0 at the minute. I was hoping it would be a bit shorter. I though it over excelled on it's last run. Laying this today to kick the day off and I can't see it winning.

1.50 Sandown, Lalor, I've been back this to win all morning, around 1.87 now. This horse really impressed me. Won a couple of c1 hurdles and then a good win over fences. I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't win again against weak opposition.

Huntingdon 1:55 Furiously Fast - A talented horse on his day, a fine second to Diego Du Charmil (147) two seasons ago with Gibralfaro (140) back in third. Also, the beating he gave future winner Octagon looks good too. Furiously Fast had his first comeback run for two seasons, when a decent fifth last time. He is on such a fair mark to come right back to his best form, still only six years of age. I wouldn't want soft ground though. 12/1 Win and/or Each Way.

Beat a mile into the race. Couldn't handle the ground.

Backed vieux lion rouge for the Bechers last sat - was finishing really strongly, looks like the wind op might pay off - cheeky fiver at 25/1 for the nash

Southwell 2:50 Roman De Brut - nice strike rate on the all weather. On a mark of 67 he is still a danger to all, on his first start on the fibresand. I think this goes çlose tomorrow, very close. 9/1

Ps, apologies for that jumps horse I put up at Mussleburgh today. I prefer the jumps but I do have my bad bets/days. That was one.

I took another bite at connections' Un Temps Pour Tout again tonight (66/1). He's a stone and a half better than VLR and might end up with the same weight!

    2.20 Southwell

Weld Al Amarat is 2-2 at the track, his latest a stroll in the park 6l win a month ago.
However, he's raised 10lbs for that, up in class & down in trip, and also blessed with the coffin-box draw.
Conversely, Hammer Gun is 6-11 here, down 4lbs from his latest, a comfortable win over c/d, and he's drawn a kinder berth in 7.
    Current 7/2 will do nicely.
