Small patent at wolves tomorrow for the interest.

15.20 lightoller 25-1 aw debut reflected in price. Lightly raced but showed a decent turn of foot running on well in class 4 over shorter on turf last time out. I fancy him to break his duck tomorrow if taking to the surface which being trained by Mick Channon we can hope him to.

15.50 uncle bernie 16-1 another horse dropping in class but this time we know he handles the surface being a course distance winner. Yes he's not particularly well handicapped but could perhaps improve and I feel the 16-1 available is generous.

16.20 tonis a star 11-1 I have a soft spot for this mare because she won me a few hundred quid when won at 33-1 a few years ago when I first started following the nags. She has won since over course and distance and off the same mark as she runs off tomorrow. Recent form isn't great but sure she has to bounce back sooner or later and Tony Carroll is due a run of form! Of course ould penny dreadful will probably go and win now my few shekels aren't weighing her down.

    2.10 - Southwell - Blackwood Rover. 2 pts win. Available at 5/1.
This won't take much winning and preference is for Blackwood Rover. He was absent for 15 months prior to returning in January and didn't show much in his first two starts at Lingfield and Plumpton. They were both over hurdles in testing conditions and, returned to fences on better ground, there was a bit more encouragement at Huntingdon last time out. He was still well beaten but it was a tenuous step back in the right direction and he may be able to build on that this afternoon. The Assessor has given him further help by dropping him another three pounds and that leaves him twelve pounds below the mark from he started this campaign. He hasn't had much racing for a nine year old and his only previous visit here saw him finish placed over this trip from a thirteen pounds higher mark. The yard are better known for their flat exploits but they are more than capable in this sphere.

    2.30 - Hexham - Master Rajeem. 2.5 pts win. Available at 4/1.
Master Rajeem has been drifting like a barge in the early markets, which is a slight concern, but many of these don't find winning easy nowadays and it looks a race he looks capable of winning. He has only been with his current yard for his last three starts and, after finishing second over an extended 26 furlongs on his first start for them, he capatilised on a lower hurdles rating when winning narrowly over the extended 23 furlongs at this track on his penultimate outing. He was beaten sixteen lengths into third at Ayr last time out but the winner has since gone close from an eight pound higher mark so there is some substance to the form. This is, if anything, an easier task and he has kept better company for most of his Chasing career. There is a question mark over the drop back to 20 furlongs but the heavy ground on a stiff track and the likely decent pace could see the stamina for further brought into play in the latter stages.

    3.20 - Wolverhampton - Hidden Stash. 1 pt e/w. Available at 12/1.

    3.40 - Southwell - Midnight Gem. 1.5 pts win. Available at 13/2.

    2.50 westleake 20-1

Ran well on his last run in lingfield only beaten 3 lengths by runaiocht who went on to win again. 3 of his last 4 wins at lingfield. Having said that he hasn't won in 2 years and is maybe a bit long in the tooth.

    3.50 Indus Valley 16-1

Another old fella I'm gonna take a chance on. I think he has one more win in him.

    18.25 light from mars 16-1

This veteran has dropped to an all time low mark but likes it here with 4 of his last 6 wins coming over 7f at Kempton. While I also like gulland rock in this race, light from mars carries my euro each way.

    19.25 follow me 20-1

This lady wasn't totally disgraced running for Hugo Palmer against some decent horses. Now with Lee carter and totally unexposed, I like the jockey/trainer combo.

Each way yankee for the giggles.

    2:50 Palace Moon 20's into 10's already, I can see why. This was a 100 + rated horse 2 or 3
years ago, been dropping down and down the handicap, to a new all time-low mark of 50. They've kept this in training as a 12 year to win a race imho, and today could very well be the day.

Killala Quay is still well weighted on his past form but, at a big price, it could be worth chancing Tinker Time. He is probably weighted to his best on a mark of 130 and he was disappointing at Taunton last time out. However his two previous efforts this season were up there with the best he has ever produced and he hasn't gone beyond three miles many times. One of those times saw him run out a convincing winner at Ludlow sixteen months ago and the second has since improved twenty pounds. His career best came over an extended 23 furlongs here and, although the yard is a lot smaller nowadays, they still place this type of horse well.
Runs tomorrow 4:45 Taunton. 4 runner race. Big chance.

I think a wee trixie is on the cards tomorrow.

    16.45 renfrew street 12-1

The Mark Johnston trained filly has not been seen in six months and is unproven on the all weather so comes with significant risks. However she has run well in higher grades than this and surely retains ability. It is also worth mentioning that she has run well with granny norton aboard who incidentally had an excellent day yesterday almost landing a lovely double. He takes the reins here, one of two rides at wolves.

    17.45 zenovia 9-1

Normally I would say woe to the punter who takes on godolphin and this open race also features a Richard Hannon colt that just failed to win last time out. Having said all that I fancy zenovia to benefit most from the step up in distance. Staying on well on all her races over a mile, I'll take the chance that David Simcocks horse will improve the most.

    19.15 royal peace 12-1

Purely speculative punt here in the hope that this filly who ran surprisingly well on her debut will improve for that run. I expect the price to drift tomorrow as punters pile into the dual debutants zillion from the powerful John Gosden yard and the William Haggas trained stararchitecture.
