When I watched Kalkir un in his last race it left me scratching my head wondering "Why on earth is this horse 2nd fav for the Triumph Hurdle"?
Maybe I'll find out to my cost today but he didn't impress me one bit and the winner that day has been stuffed since
I can only assume the names Mullins and Walsh have more to do with his current place in the market that anything the horse has done.
Vercingetorix on the other hand couldn't have been any more impressive when winning for Gordon Elliot.
His experience on the flat no doubt helped but he jumped like an old hand and turning for home Davy Condon tracking the leader was happy to let
a couple of horses behind to close right up on them before putting the race to bed ain half a dozen strides.
He won by 2 lengths and gave the runner up 7lbs who went on to run a decent 2nd in an 18 runner 7 grand race.
I fancy him to come out on top today and give Simon Munir and even stronger grip on the Triumph.
He's been backed from 7/2 down to 9/4 on the machine for a few grand.
Vercingetorix 9/4 looks superb value to me

Windsor Park ran better than his 4th place suggested last timeand could give AP something to think about on the likely fav.
Windsor Park 11 on the machine looking for 3.0 to place

First time back after a break Canyari (4.40S) ran a cracker in a better race than this, closing well at the finish. Unsurprisingly, he got outpaced round a sharper Lingfield and was outsped in the closing stages (rather than the RP's weakened). The drop in class and step up in trip should see him in a much better light today (holds a Lincoln entry, but probably needs to win to qualify for the consolation) and 15/2 looks too big. Deffo can't see him out of the first 3.
The 4.40 Southwell looks an interesting race to me as well reet hard.
Ace Master absolutely hacked up lto over 6fs but can't help but feel that his oponents ran below par that day and has never really struck me as an 80+ horse and after 50 odd runs doubt he's suddenly improved that much.
Bognor may have reached his top mark when winning from 76 and was well btn lto although loves this course, should place.
Canyari may be better over 6fs reet hard by Dandy Man and think Amenable is also better over 6fs.
Interesting horse for me in this race is Powerful Presence for O'Meara, was a very good performer at Southwell when last seen here but that was back in 2012 and has run consistantly well on turf for O'Meara since to not run him back at Southwell, contesting more valuable races and ran well last summer from 80/82 on softish ground at Ayr/Catt, interesting that with his stable in good form 5 winners and 2 seconds last F/N decides to run him here after a little break.
Ruban with as well Powerful presence a good record fresh at Southwell. Ruban cantering all the way round last time out, but sadly the market has pounced. A fair bit to find on paper, but the LTO says it all.
2.00 lazy sioux. 9.0 win + 2.5 pl taken
3.30 Leonard Thomas. 4.8 win
Molasses 13.50 Plumpton 5/2 Won
Decent run FTO and getting lumps off the odds on fav today. Fav might pull too hard today and this one could pick up the pieces
Traffic Fluide 14.50 Plumpton 6/4 Won
Couple of decent runs since transferring from France. Receiving lumps as a 5yo today and think it will grind this out today for the Moores at their local track.
Qatar Princess 14.00 Wolv 11/4 Unplaced
Booking of Kirby catches the eye, go to jock for Mr Jenkins. Trainer is in decent form lately and can see this one shedding her maiden today.
Episode 16.10 Catt 11/4 3rd
Trainer thinks a bit of this fella and had it's half brother Avidity who is a pretty good animal. Money is down today and I'd expect this one to show huge improvement for it's debut and go very close today.

Thunder and Rain and Letbeso should both aquit themselves well at Ffos las today
I want Simmply Sam to win at Ayr today (3:15) to advertise the form with Lights Of Broadway who I make ten pound well-handicapped for the handicap hurdle at Chepstow tomorrow (4:05).
A win for Simmply Sam would be a nice boost for Lights Of Broadway.

2.00South. MASTER OF DISGUISE and in the 3.05 KATIE GALE I'm on my way so good luck to you all
That's good...Lights Of Broadway was an 8L second to Barton Rose who is now rated 119. At a pound- per-length theoretically that could put Lights Of Broadway on 111, (or at least mean she is nearer 111 than the 101 she runs from tomorrow), so she looks nicely weighted with 10:8 on her back and decent ground will suit.
Simmply Sam franking her winning form is good aswell.
Wednesday 4:05 Chepstow Lights Of Broadway
