    Barry Geraghty

I don't know if racing in the UK more or working with Henderson has done it but either way he is has stepped up his game hugely over the last couple of years. I never rated him highly, even in the time of Moscow Flyer - thought he was often responsible for encouraging horses to make bad mistakes.

But these days, particularly over fences, he is just superb. Love how he gets horses to jump (Big Zeb being a prime example) and any of the negative comments I might have said about him in the past certainly do not apply anymore.

Nice to see him praised; if I was well-informed, I'd praise him, too!

I agree with you, Gal, although I used to think of him as too wishy-washy in the past - not making horses' minds up enough, or sometimes inappropriately. He seems to have got his timing spot on now, seeing good strides and helping where needed, and not too wild with the lash, either. He seems a very nice young chap, too, always good for a chat with the presenters and never have I seen him look sour after a losing ride. (Stands back for a wave of corrections... !)

Has he done enough to lose the tag of Belinda Gravity yet?

I've always been a fan. Move to the UK certainly seems to have concentrated him more on the game
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Do you suppose, Granger, it's because of different racing tactics in Ireland and the UK? Or perhaps a wider assortment of types of rides, requiring different techniques, and not the same-o same-o way he might've got used to in Ireland?

Best jockey around for me now - didn't we have a similar topic on this a month or so back where we were all saying similar things - I also was far from a fan before but he's a real positive now.

Think being part of an established stable with a top boss like NH can only have brought him on. He now has the best of both worlds. He can still pick up the best rides at home while having a powerful team at Henderson's all behind him

Am I right in thinking that it is only him and Johnson who have ridden winners of the four championship races?

Has he married into another horsey clan, Gareth? We far too rarely get to see the wives of jockeys, and it's the first time I've seen Mrs (as in Mama) Walsh today.

Geraghty is a different jockey since his move to the UK. Fair play to him.

Well, pretty much all of the best have dropped one at some time or another. I thought we'd never hear the last of AP and VALIRAMIX and even now there seem to be some people unconvinced by his vast improvement over time. Just as well we're not on public display to thousands every time we do our jobs!

After wetherby he went in front of the cameras and was very straightforward made no excuses. I thought that was classy (even though i had lost)

He is riding suprebly and isnt there a stat that suggested that he falls off his mounts far less than any other top jockey?

You get the feeling (as with brennan and NTD) the partnership with NH is working extrememly well on a personal basis too

Geraghty has rode a national winner too. Does this make him unique amongst jump jockeys?

Valiramix broke my heart. That year I really minded that. One of the best horses that I've ever seen. Spoiled the rest of the week for me and I can totally understand mcCoy being subdued

30 day ban for his ride on Noble Emperor today.

If all stewards took the same approach things would change. If this like all others is merely an isolated ruling, it will be reduced on appeal.

    Misses Punchestown as a result

    Ouch; a very sore thing.
The trainers of all horses bar the winner were called in after that race, a fiasco of a start.
Were they all asleep or what ?
