Looks an interesting card alright, albeit definitely a tricky one..

Novice hurdle looks a trappy contest.. probably a watching brief, but I can't help feeling that Trafford Lad is overpriced at 14/1 with Paddy Power.. should have learned a lot from his maiden hurdle the last day at Punchestown (where his jumping was very novicey) and have a feeling he could surprise a few tommorrow..

Western Kid is a very promising horse as well, though I havn't looked at the race closely..

Anyone know what the chances of the ground drying out for Gemini Lucy at Cork tommorow? 5/1 RP tissue could look pretty big if it dries out overnight.

Really looking forward to this up coming novice chase at Navan. Think Glencove Marina is one of the most talented horses in training in Ireland and would love to see him up in an impressive performance.

He was just picking up and I think he could have got them.

I thought Gary O'Brien (usually spot on) was way off there. Jockey had not gone for him and I think he would have picked them up comfortably.

Horse is still a big baby, needs better ground and I have an inkling he might be better going the other way around but I may be wrong on that count. Still only a 5 year old.

Fingers crossed Tex Morgan gets up ok.

That was pretty impressive from Jazz Messenger. Ground looks to be in good nick there after a dry week.

    Any word on Tex Morgan?

Not certain, but I think I heard them say he was put down with a broken shoulder.

    GLENCOVE OFF TO A FLYER
    By PA Sport Staff

Glencove Marina made a winning debut over fences at Navan - but looked slightly fortunate to do so.

Willie Mullins' Grade One-winning hurdler still had several lengths to find on the run to two-out as Tex Morgan and Huntmaster were fighting out the finish.

But both leaders fell independently at that obstacle, leaving the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners' Chase at the mercy of the 5-4 favourite.

Marhaba Million stayed on for second, five lengths away, with Judge Deed back in third.

"We got our Christmas present a little early there," said Mullins.

"I told Davy (Condon) to give him a clear round and if he still had a chance it was a bonus.

"I was delighted with his jumping, we sent him chasing because he is a natural at the game.

"An objective now could be the Durkan New Homes Novice Chase on the first day of Leopardstown's Christmas meeting.

"It may come too soon but I don't think he had a hard race there."

Well done with Trafford Lad trackside....seems to be alot of people fancying him today. Decoy Daddy was very disappointing.

    I disagree
Glencove looked beaten for me when the other 2 fell.

Kicking myself as had Marhaba Million down as one of the main dangers to Glencove Marina and nearly had a forecast on - instead I went with just the single on GM.

Disappointed with the ride that David Casey gave to Uncle Junior at Cork (ie. not kicking on when the others where under pressure and turning it into something of a sprint) though I am talking through my pocket on this one.

Cheers Gal.. first two will make smashing chasers next year, that's for sure.

Hard to know how the beginners chase would have turned out, was very impressed with the way Glencove Marina quickened away from the last. Inclined to think he would have got up myself.

On a less pleasant note, absolutely gutted for Robbie Colgan, who looks set to face another extended spell on the sidelines.. talk about bad luck..
