Unashamedly stole this from final Furlong. I believe this site got a favourable mention on these before and engendered a fair bit of interest in the site for a while, maybe we still have a few members who heard about us from this, so use any e-mail accounts to which you have access and vote for Talking Horses in Category 7...

    Vote for your favourites

TURKEY'S off the festive menu here in the NP cubicle, because after an unexplained absence of a couple of years, we'll be once again dipping the ladle into that bubbling cauldron of low morals and high ambition known as The Annual Netprophet Internet awards.

Your votes are humbly requested in some or all of the following 10 categories:

    1. Website of the year
    2. Best bookmaker site
    3. Best exchange
    4. Best spread betting site
    5. Best poker site
    6. Best casino site
    7. Best fansite/non-commercial site/racing or betting blog/forum
    8. Best racing industry site - racecourse/trainer/jockey/stud
    9. Worst customer service
    10. Worst site reliability

It's your chance to plant kisses on the rosy cheeks of the good, and pile bile-soaked admonishments on the heads of the bad. Please note that the Racing Post's own superb sites have blushingly declined to be eligible for awards, for obvious reasons.

Once again the Awards are being generously sponsored by VCbet to the tune of a £150 free bet for one lucky voter - all readers who submit votes will go into a draw for that prize.

    Email votes to netprophet@racingpost.co.uk

The deadline is the stroke of midnight on Boxing Day, with the results announced on January 1.

Getting any sort of a mention might be worth trying. I would imagine though we'd have sod all chance of beating Betfair in category 10 though (despite it actually being quite a reliable site, the odd time it does go down it can really ***** people off).

Surely P I S S isn't a banned word? You might as well ban Gosh.

I have heard that the trainer, Brendan Powell has quite a good website - and evidently there is a link on it to this forum too.

Dunno if you were around for the infamous Arse Cup competition, but ol' mutton chops can't hold a candle to the king of arseness that is Derek Thompson (IMO).

Who is the reigning arse champion anyway? Is it Chaparse?

I am voting for Gearoid in section 5.

Just re-read it and it says 'Poker Site'
"And still they gazed and still the wonder grew. That one small head could carry all he knew.

And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."

No harm in people throwing their vote in for this place. Doubtful we will win but even if we get a mention it might help spread the word about this place. Any means of getting new members can only be a good thing.

I think Chapman had him off the bridle this year, but Thommo found more for pressure and put in a string of fine performances at the business end. Nothing stellar to rank with his assault on the ladies loo at Chester, his comments to the 'best dressed' winner at York, his beeline for Hendersons daughter, or his comment about New Orleans hurricanes as I recall, but a series of high calibre arse moments without necessarily scaling his usual dizzy heights. It was as if he knew there was a new kid on the block and he had to keep up his crown. I still didn't think he was flat out though, and could have found more if needed. Chapman is his most credible rival though, (especially after that dire Breeders Cup anchor role he tried to perform) and I'm increasingly of the opinion we might have a Denman Kauto situation developing here.

Betfred should ensure that category 9 is a one horse race.
Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock. So long Holly. _ Harry Limes

Thommo has had a quite year.

Chapman is a top class arse but I see 2 very good prospects : Nick Luck and Zoey Bird.

If we had a category for radio arse, then I'd certainly like to nominate those two bickering egotists who seem to be locked in a game of oneupmanship and mutual loathing with their listeners, that do the internet commentaries on the Sporting Lifes site. If ever you want a laugh and to listen to a couple of seriosuly unpleasent and thoroughly unlikable individuals who are consumed with their own sense of self-importance I suggest you tune in, and see how much you can bear. Makes some of TH's more robust characters look quite charismatic

How anybody can look past Willie Carson is a complete and utter mystery to me.

Surely it's morally reprehensible to use the words "arse" "tit" and "kids" in the same sentence?

All within the space of 5 words, too
