I have the utmost respect for those brave souls crashing over various NH fences, but my interest also includes stats and there's a poor jockey whose record reads 73 rides - no wins in 2007.

Does anyone recall a worse cold run, and what might have happened to the above individual, prior to 2007 his record reads well.

Oh dear, I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of him.

He doesn't ride at Steepledowns, does he?

I had quite high hopes for him after he'd impressed throughout the summer of last year, especially his handling of the tricky Silver Dagger whom he won four races on.
It's been downhill ever since and all he gets the leg up on now are no hopers.

No. Thats JP Magnier you were thinking of....

This brave soul has hit the '100 mark without succes' this season - good luck to the various trainers keeping faith with him.

Tomorrow's engagements look pretty dire for Michael.

Credit where it's due, about 80 rides on from my first posting, Michael has ridden a winner (Soubriqet).

Does anyone know the record for most successive rides without a winner and should Michael's 151 be listed in such annals of infamy.

Lets hope Michael's luck has changed for the better.

Doug Smith once went over 100 rides without a winner but still ended up champion .

Not a lot of people know that. :what:

With that one winner , Michael rose from 640th to 259th position in the jockey's championship.
