Really impressed with him today.. thought he quickened up really nicely when asked and was certainly value for a fair bit more than the winning margin would suggest IMO..
Of all the Ballydoyle backend 2yo winners, I have a feeling this one might just be the nicest of the lot.. not often you get a pacemaker in a race like the Eyrefield either..

Yeah, thought he did it very nicely. Not sure how good the second is but the way Meade's are running at the moment it was no surprise to see him up there.
I love the ride he was given. Went for the rail and real quickened from the bend. Very impressive.
................and the way the pacemaker, and stablemate, moved off the fence to let him through? :P

I was pretty impressed by him as well.
But there's no getting away from the fact that this does not look strong form by listed standards. The 3.25 lengths third had been beaten off marks between 78 and 85 on his previous three starts and the runner-up had run off 73 (admittedly winning easily) the time before and had an official mark of 92 going into this.
Some of the others possibly weren't ready for 9 furlongs at this stage of their careers.
Alessandro Volta should certainly go the right way, however.

No hard-luck stories behind, but Divinitus probably didn't stay and Queen Jock and Houston Dynimo might have had the same problem.
You will with more experience, J. AP, realise that there is a lot of punning on here from time to time. Now Bar is a bit of a live wire, so if you read his post again he will also come over as a bit of a bright spark. Many people are neutral on him but I think he is fairly down to earth.

This is turning in to a fairly electric thread alright lads...
Proximity of Dick Morris in third definitely holds down the form Prufrock (welcome on board btw) but, as I said before, I reckon Alessandro Volta was value for a fair bit more than the official margin..
Really expect him to come in to his own next year over middle distances..
Just watched a replay, thought he did it nicely enough but the type to improve. Hard to know what to make of the yards two year olds though.
