It looks to me like it could be a decent race, if most of the above show up. A lot of people will fancy Twist Magic in receipt of 12lb from the winner, but there are more than a few decent horses lower down in the weights who could spring a surprise with the benefit of fitness.

Saintsaire ran in a charity race last weekend I think it was which won't be in the form if that effects anyone's views on the race.

Yes he beat Ouninpohja and was hard ridden 2f out under a lass, Nicholls head lad was on Ouninpohja and he was barking all the way up the straight and was barking so loud coming inside the final furlong you could hear him in Exeter. Hardly surprising he was not wanting to go by considering his doggy antics.

Interestingly they were a long way clear.

I like Oneway each way, he has been crying out for 2m 4f and runs well fresh. Bob Hall looked in need of the run at Cheltenham in my opinion and he stayed on well, think he is interesting as well. Twist Magic however if he stays surely must be too good for these.

Chris you must have been watching a different race to me. Neither Saintsaire or Ouninpohja were hard ridden. Both were well clear and given an easy race as they were miles better than the rest of the field.

Quite like the look of Pablo Du Charmil and he's likely to be overpriced. Fair Along should go well and will have no problems over this sort of trip.

He'll probably be short enough though and well backed, but think Mr Pipe's horse could be a touch special.

Not a great renewal ~ Voy Por Ustedes will probably be in need of the race to a degree and I'd be surprised if the likes of Saintsaire and Pablo Du Charmil even turned up if the topweight runs. I'm not as mad keen on Twist Magic as some are but the conditions suit him well and he'll take all the beating with either Fair Along or Royal Shakespeare plugging on into a place. I'd like to see Fair Along setting the pace as it would give him a decent chance of winning, but they seem to have abandoned that as a tactic.

Exeter Racecourse billed this as the best Gold Cup in years, which even with VPU and Twist Magic in I disagreed with. Yup, it's got to be one of, if not, the worst ever.

Hasty Prince now rates as a maximum bet for me, I think this has to be the worse race I have seen of this graded status.

Rory correct me if i am wrong but surely the Haldon Gold Cup is rated higher now than in 1991. Wasn't it only a class B conditions race then, not a grade 3 handicap.
