What would the target be?.........so many Graded races at the minimum trip in Ireland........is there a decent handicap for you to take advantage of?
Will your boy stay two-and-a-half, Archie?
BetVictor Gold Cup winnable from a mark of 146 maybe?
Aim high!
There isn't a 2-mile novice chaser you could seriously rate within 7lbs of Footpad......he is a country mile ahead of his peers, and 166 almost certainly on the low-side, imo.
Altior was rated...
Happy to test that theory on Sunday. To me, Footpad took very little out of himself at Cheltenham. The horse that should be swrving the race is PM, as he almost certainly had a much harder race.
Footpad will barely have known he was in a race at Cheltenham - should definitely be allowed to take his chance.
The intermediate trip holds no fears for him, and connections are unlikely to write...
Footpad's run in the Irish Champion Hurdle on Good ground, when beaten 1L by Petit Mouchoir, is almost certainly as good as his Champion Hurdle run behind Buveur D'Air on Good-to-Soft. These are...
Footpad's Good ground efforts over hurdles, wouldn't be very far behind his efforts on softer ground - if they're behind at all.
I would have no worries about him acting on it over fences, and...
I reckon that must be wrong.......10lbs higher than Footpad and 15lbs higher than Douvan?.........it's obvious it's wrong!......did you challenge the Tweeter?
Timeform Chasers & Hurdlers has them rated as follows: Sprinter Sacre 175p, Douvan 180p.
Sprinter Sacre's C&H rating may also reflect his Aintree win, and Douvan's may reflect his Aintree and...
Not sure what is being argued here (and can't really be arsed to check;)), but if it's that Douvan's Arkle was better form than Sprinter Sacre's Arkle, then it's bollocks, imo.
Just because Cue...
Munir Souede will hopefully have Sceau Royal back next season. If he goes the right way, that might spring them to up Footpad in trip.
The latter does look all-over a Champion Chaser to me, though.
Ground called Good-to-Soft, Soft in Places today.

It's maybe a little early, to be judging him quite so harshly.
Brain Power was rated in the same ball-park as both Petit Mouchoir and Footpad over hurdles, and it's a bit rapid to be writing him...
People want to be clever and find a way to take-on the jolly. Sometimes, the reasons are legit, and sometimes less legit.
Suggesting Footpad is vulnerable, is not legit. If he runs his race, he...
There's been sustained money for Brain Power the last 2-3 days, and he's still shortening.
He must be working the house down, considering he comes in here on the back of a UR and a Fall.
PM jumped great in his Beginners Chase before his set-back, and I'd be very-much inclined to forgive him those early errors at Leopardstown. I would agree, however, that he is much the more likely of...
True....though the Aeroplane did finish 3rd in what is widely-regarded as the best Supreme Novices of all time.......which is a little different to being beaten 25L by (an admittedly brilliant)...
A 143 rated hurdler is not going to get animals like Footpad and Petit Mouchoir - who were both a stone and more better - out of their comfort zone, I don't reckon.
If there were holes in the...
The Warwick performance was indeed very smart, and people rightly enthused about his jumping.
Where people are going off-piste with this horse (I mean idiots like Kealy on Preview nights, rather...
Maybe a bit of that, PJ........and these things tend to have self-generated momentum.
Anthony Bromley suggesting that the drift is something of nothing, and that plan is still the Arkle for Footpad (obviously that could change).
A look at the previous day's closing prices for JLT, he has undoubtedly been clipped in places, but not drastically so.
Mullins has apparently said that the target remains the Arkle "as far as he...
What are the chances, eh?
Yanworth formally scratched from the RSA and the JLT.
I'm just going to leave this Alan King quote here for a bit.........
"I’m hoping that Yanworth shows everyone what he can do – and shuts...
