I thought the weekend couldn’t possibly get any worse…
That’s where I am at the moment. Since I’ve been able to record the racing I haven’t been able to watch any of it. No matter how awful the fall looks I still pray that I’m wrong.
Awful….
Allaho has had a setback and will miss Cheltenham according to TRP.
Does anyone know if Champagnesocialist is ok after her fall yesterday at Limerick? Listening to it on the radio she seemed to be down for a long time but I can’t find any information about her.
Me too. I thought today was going to be hard watching with the ground conditions so I was only half watching but that has really thrown me. Awful, just awful.
My old favourite, dear old Custard the Dragon, has retired and gone to his forever home. I always had to back him along with Brian the Snail ( who’s still going…..albeit slowly…)
Do a lot of them mellow when they leave racing eg Flyingbolt?
Oh I’m sorry to hear that. He’s a horse that often enters my thoughts for no apparent reason other than I enjoyed watching his exploits back in the day. I love it when one if the smaller yards gets a...
Oh no. Watching with my grandchildren so had to play down the falls. It was obvious that Unexpected Depth was a fatality but had no idea that Three Stripe Life was lost, too. What a horrible race.
And winner of the virtual Grand National. We’ll never know what would have happened if the race had taken place.
I only realised just now that Okovanga Delta was running. We went to Rose Dobbins a few weeks ago and I fell head over heels in love with him. Thankfully most of the fences seem to have been missed...
It reminds me of when my pony got colic and had to be pts. I phoned the vets asking for any vet to come asap.My vet wasn’t working that day. But next thing I knew she was at the field. I made you a...
Thanks for the update. Although the fall looked awful I thought he’d walked away from it and looked ok. Fingers crossed that he’ll be ok and have a nice retirement.
All the years that I dreamed of owning a racehorse and I realise now that I would have been a nervous wreck. Which I am if I’m watching any horse that I have even he remotest link to! I’m pleased to...
Good luck. I’ll be watching on W Hill!
I see he’s still down to run!
I didn’t realise he was trained by Mickey Hammond. When we used to stay at Middleham ( pre pandemic) we used to watch the Hammond horses go through the village up to the gallops. Would wake up to the...
We used to start the season at Charlie Hall Day. Love the little cafe in the middle of the track and have great memories of watching Many Clouds on the screen by the paddock with Trevor Hemings.Alas,...
Adam Nicol has found a great retirement home for Spiders Bite who’d obviously fallen out of love with the game. He will, I assume, be able to continue to be exercised on Bamburgh beach and in the sea.
It was awful….
No words. Poor girl.
Ding Ding has retired. So relieved to see her retire in one piece but, boy, will I miss shouting her home.
I’m so sorry to hear this but relieved that the injury isn’t worse than it is. Did he do it at the water jump?
Actually I’ve just looked at his race record which is pretty amazing. And beginning to retrospectively wished he’d beaten Frodon in the KG ( a dead heat would have been good!). I suppose my most...
