I think those Supreme horses that go on to win a CH stats are a bit misleading (last winner was Bula in 1971). How many winners actually hurdle the following year? Don’t loads go novice chasing?
I cannot desert Kalashnikov in this one. I noted him at Wetherby in early November - there's sure to be a bloodbath at Sandown tomorrow, after he's gunned his rivals down.
He looks good: another 10-length demolition job.
The horse I noted winning at Wetherby last month, Kalashnikov, attempts to gun down the opposition in the 12.05 at Donny today. I’m hoping he rattles home.
I see Altior was only rated 136 after his 34-length demolition at Chepstow in October 2015. Wasn't it EC1 who first alerted us to his promise?
Btw, Altior has now won 11 races on the bounce.
Quick question to the experts: I saw Kalashnikov scoot the novices hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday (easy 10 lengths), but he "only" beat the 124-rated second. The time of the race was two seconds...
Kalashnikov has just torn a field apart at Wetherby, on his first run over hurdles.
