I agree that Mick Jazz holds the form down . Just wonder whether too many penalty kicks for BDA this season and he wasn't 100%.
On the Bula Hurdle form he would have gone very close !
What a load of nonsense - Faugheen not the horse he was end of story. The way he plugged in suggests they should step him up in trip.
Very game from Buveur d'Air there - well below his best but still saw Melon off . Bet twiston Davies us wishing he ran The New One now.
MTOY clearly should have won at Punchestown - Aidan Coleman lucky to get the ride back next week.
Wicklow Brave ran rather tamely in the CH last year though.
Will Yorkhill appear on the basis. He hates fences nowadays ?
I suppose the question is how brilliant was that return . Jezki gallant but well behind in fourth - Melon a very flat fifth and Defi ran another absolute stinker in a distant seventh .
No...
I should have thought the riding arrangements on Saturday might not give any clues as to the outcome of the CH but otherwise they clearly do as to the expected performance of D de S . Johnson hardly...
I would otherwise Mark Walsh would be riding . Johnson unlikely to give up a book of Saturday rides unless some confidence Defi back to form.
Wouldn't say its a good sign. Barry must be going to Sandown to ride Buveur D'air in the contenders .
I assume that is a good sign for Defi fans . Dickie would not be going over for the ride otherwise .
As much as I would normally agree that not everything should be at Cheltenham - there must be a good case for Jockey Club Racecourses seeking to transfer the Champion Hurdle Trial always run in a bog...
On the other hand MTOY put in a vastly better performance in the 2017 International than in his 2016/7 season pre Champion runs . I agree with Wilson - a very good chance of him coming second again .
Why it took several weeks for this information to be released is unclear .
I do not think it would be a huge blow to the meeting - Cheltenham is bigger than one or two horses - it is not like the Gold Cup in 1967 .
It would be a great shame though .
I am not convinced by the idea Melon will be better than MTOY if they go a better pace - all MTOY best form is in the Champion off a proper gallop.
Tent surely can be placed again especially if one of the big two pull out .
MTOY so game today - he surely would have won lots more races when he young including the 2014 Champion if he had settled when he was young like he does now .
Very impressive - he and Faugheen should be disputing favouritism . At this time of the year I would not be keen to take 13-8 Faugheen turning up let alone winning .
Faugheen was impressive but rather surprised that Mark Walsh said Jezki was back to his best - that clearly is nonsense if he had been Geraghty would have been in Ireland on Sunday not at Cheltenham...
