The next was disappointing as both Eldrickjones, Project Dante failed to fire. Or should I say Project Dante fired away too fast and too soon - blew it right there. Sam Maximus surprised and although the tote place payout was nothing approaching the 40/1 sp it reduced the damage a bit.

Some really good racing to savour. As usual with the bigger meeting I have lots of trackers appearing, often in opposition with each other. Strictly that should mean “no bet” but, again as usual, I expect I will succumb to the temptation.

First up is Stowell in the 1:50. In the Queens Vase he ran to 3rd and was given a hold up ride by Frankie. The sectionals show he finished fastest of all over the last 2 furlongs.
