Unbelievable scenes....I am going to the Algarve with the oul fella and the two brothers mid September for a few games of golf. Please say you won't be there then keeping us awake bating it into yer bird!!

Going to Thailand for some winter sun in a few weeks, Phuket mainly.

Any experienced travellers (residents Tanlic) who know whether or not we need vaccinations? I have had three forceful and competing opinions so far!

Just back from Thailand Colm, you shouldn't need anything, I have never vaccinated

you didnt ask for it but

Phuket is fine (maybe as a first time visitor you will love it) but I wouldn't stay there for the entirety

2 hours away by boat is Koh Lanta, a 1000 times less crowded and you will have true beach peace (if that is what you are looking for)

Thanks PJ. We are based at Panwa Beach but the intention is to be active and mobile. Any other inputs/suggestions/recommendations deeply appreciated as we have never visited this part of the planet previously.

Do a night in Patong - It is the wildest of the Phuket areas (and has a bad rep I guess) but for people watching and night life, it is good and also has an underrated beach

You will find some golf there in Phuket

Enjoy a quiet beach.

What you will really find is that the country is completly dependent on tourists, so everywhere yu go and see will be catered to locals meeting the needs of tourists.

I love Thailand, have been 5 times. You should have an amazing time

If you go again, i'd recommend you go up North to Chinang Mai, where I was in December. Its a more relaxed area, beautiful mountains, nature and day trips. Also more cultural
