And watch out for the mark given to a horse whose name rhymes with Shirley.

Sort it Out was an eye catching third today off 135.
Runner up in the County behind Wicklow Brave a few years ago he could feature the next day.

Danny I've literally just read your reply regards Mohayeed, and I'm a man of my word an will give you a rating when I have time. So much going on in my personal life at the moment I've not even had time to look at racing properly recently, never mind give a handicap Mark to a horse that's evidently stupidly hard to handicap.

Peefed off as well. Having quit my job and splitting up with the Mrs, the week off Cheltenham coming was a welcome relief and breather from life. However I've just started my new job and I'm on a training course all week 11-7 and will miss the whole week of the festival. Pissed is an understatement, but at least I'm in employment.

I'll give you the mark on Friday and the winner of the race Danny.

Ah no worries DJ it's not like I was going to hold you to doing your home work haha. Just rate him 180 so that will at least fill me with confidence that i haven't done my absolute poke on him for the County haha.

Having equally as disastrous time of things as you are at the minute so probably won't be posting much over the next couple of weeks. Will take a small break and freshen up for the festival and the rest of the spring.

Splitting up with the Mrs, losing your job ....meh.

Missing the festival ! Jesus Christ man! Our prayers are with you.

I am looking directly at Diamond Geezer at this point.
As Archie says, entries are released on the 22nd with the weights released on the 28th.

When these are released later today (again, looking directly at DG here), will they be in a format that is easily exportable to Excel?

The lack of multiple entries this year will help no end.

I figure there will still be multiple entries, TheBear - at least at this stage.

They're still effectively early-closers, and the wheat surely won't get sorted from the chaff until declaration stage (to be honest, I may have this wrong)?

Gun Digger, Roaring Bull and BBB who all carry an entry in the Pipe, run for Elliott today at Thurles in the same 2m4f Novice Hurdle that Champagne Classic ran in this time last year before going to Cheltenham.

Clear he targets the race every year so perhaps worth noting.

The Close Brothers Novice Handicap Chase has been a very compressed event since its introduction at the Festival, and I've been taking a look through the entries today.

Clearly there is still a chance to be re-assessed before the weights come out, but last season, the bottom weight (Burtons Well) was number 27 on the entry list, in a race where the handicap spread (excluding claims) was a mere 5lbs.

Based on their current marks (plus an educated guess at the Irish ones), horse number 27 this year will land around Drumcliff, and allowing for another five runners latitude, would take us down to Got Away. All other things being equal, I figure the following horses currently trading in places at 16/1 or less in places, are at risk of not making the cut:

    Ballyhill
    Mister Whitaker
    Mount Mews
    Geordie Des Champs
    Goose Man
    Livelovelaugh
    Patrick's Park

It's perhaps not such a drama if you're betting with a firm who are NRNB on all races, but if you're not, then it's perhaps worth bearing this in mind.

Usual caveats about me potentially talking shi*te apply.

This is the race that's gone up to 145 this year. Have you accounted for this?

There's a bit of a rogue sitting there at 142 who interests me greatly.

Think 'The Unit' is running tomorrow.

FWIW Harry Derham on the FFP this week was saying not to give up on 'Move with the times' yet, and that there's a big race in him.

Barney Dwan and the plotting Shed immediately catch the eye as ones who's trainers have been somewhat protecting their mark all season. But reflected as obviously as that at the head of the betting.

He's the one. Has the profile of one laid out for this, although his attitude does give me concern.

The Unit’s attitude seems fine, but he probably won’t complete at Cheltenham if he jumps anything like he did today.

Hoping Cyrname’s performance (the shuddering error four out apart) encourages connections to run Terrefort in the JLT.

I wonder if Cyrname was hurting after that mistake. He seemed to drag his hind legs through just about every fence after it.
