Sorry for your loss Slimster, but that was worth watching.

I enjoyed the race, a bet is only a bet. Sizing John laughed at him three out. When was the last time we had a Gold Cup winner have no problems and made it back to defend his crown in peak form? As a backer of Might Bite that performance worries me no end.

Fine beast. Who'd have thought history would remember his as the victor with Douvan

No. I must admit I hadn't written SJ off before the season but I did think he didn't look like a 2 time winner to me. I'm worried now also.

Going for the Lexus gives them a couple of extra days and the luxury of staying home.

Cracking re-appearance from Sizing John, cantered allover Djakadam there, and I am a fan of the latter. Hopefully Might Bite and Sizing John can stay fit - would provide a very exciting clash come March.

Nice performance from Un De Sceaux too - easy as you like.

Jessie far too smart to send SJ to Kempton, two weeks after running him on that ground. No surprise if he swerves everything over Xmas, and is prepped for IGC.

Today’s race of limited relevance for Gold Cup, other than to confirm SJ remains in grand order. Slim’s nerves will jangle a little less, after the Biter makes a pulled-pork of the King George field.
