John Durkan & Hilly Way Chase Cards

Punchestown goes ahead. I've heard some negative vibes for Sizing John's recent work. I can't be sure how reliable the info is but I would be siding with Djakadam at 13/8 anyway. Any strong opinions on the two cards?

Agree with Djakadam. These are probably his optimum conditions, and I’d still like him at the price, even if SJ’s work was good.

Also like Ball D’Arc in the Hilly Way. Wasn’t really put into race at Down Royal, and looked good in Navan the last time, conceding weight all round, and beating Ordinary World without any fuss.

Dropped back to 2m, I think Ball D’Arc can reverse the DR form with Ballyoisin, and UDS might just be a little vulnerable today over this trip, first time out against some race-fit rivals.

    Nice winner at Shatin Slim

I would tend ignore the rumours. If he missed Haydock because he wasn't ready why on earth would she run him in this second rate Group 1 in heavy ground if he hasn't shown her he's ready?

I couldn't back Djakadam with bad money as I have never liked the horse..........SJ for me

    Thanks.

I've not had a bet yet and might just pass. I certainly don't trust the source enough.

I am tempted to lay Low Sun in the first.

She was 4/6 when she won a 14 runner but there was 3 jumped the last with her that day and none of them could run a message.

Just convinced myself change that to I have laid it at 3.14

The UDS/SJ double at 3/1 with Coral proved too tempting for me

Sizing John and Djakadam first time up over a trip that's too short are worth opposing today. 20/1 for Shaneshill will do for me.

Fancied him last year when he looked a non trier or gone at the game. 20/1 probably a bit big.

Mullins has said that Djak may not be as forward this year than he was last. Maybe a trip to Kempton may be on the cards. If straight he's the one to beat.

He might not need to be straight.

Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

I've pulled the trigger on Djkadam. 13/8 more than fair.

Not really a strong opinion, as the horse is unraced, but Margaret Mullins runs Dumhach Thra in the 3:40, the market-vibes are good, looks as if this will go off single-figures, in the getting-out stakes.
