The old Ladbroke Hurdle (Coral.ie Hurdle?) at Leopardstown, on the first day of the new 2-day Festival in early February.

€100,00 added, so similar value to Sunday's event at Fairyhouse.

Maybe, or they may look at protecting his mark now and they've got the Coral Cup at the Festival in their sights.

Did occur to me that the Festival might be the aim, Paul........though the Leopardstown Hurdle similar value to both Coral Cup and County.

Might be one to follow off the cliff over the rest of the season.

Leopardstown would be easier for them in terms of conditions, handicap mark and am sure Willie has something else lined up for Chelt
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done

Yep......McManus will have any amount of them being primed for the Festival handicaps.

Couldn't spot any comments on him, but Downtown Getaway deserves a mention for his bumper win. A few runners disappointed, but he did it emphatically and the race has a bit of history (Getabird, Identity Thief, Outlander). One for the tracker

Yep and closely follow the next 3 in the race too

Plenty were talked up ahead of the race.

More than a fair chance the winner will be in green and gold or the miserable looking but kind hearted Barry Connell colours next time out

I thought he was going well enough until Meri Devie seemed to veer into him heavily, I think after 3 out. I think that made Geraghty's mind up that todays not the day.
Although it could easily be that he was simply out for the spin.

He really is some pig of a jumper. Some engine though!!!

Has to be a big pot in him. Handicapper has dropped him a pound, Bury him again over Xmas and win when you like!

One I took out of Sunday was Cilaos Emery. He traveled very kindly for much of the race and wasn’t knocked about. Could be being lined up for one of the handicaps in March.

The winner is the horse to take out of the race.
How many horses have won 100k handicap hurdles after stopping into the last two jumps anyone ?... The Iliad winning this race in 1986 comes to mind but that is a long time ago.

Just watched the race back. The winner was awful at the last two I didn't take much notice first time around.

    Raised 9lbs from 134 to 143. Still think he's 'Well in' off that mark? Potential next big pot 2m - 2m 4f H'Cap hurdle on Soft/Heavy ??
