    What about yourself, DG?

I'll be at Ascot on the day, which rules me out for anything other than a makeweight entry if someone has to drop out.

Is anyone else going to be there?

Thanks redcat1, that's out team of 16 for now unless TRF come up with more players and then we would need more opponents for them.

If some of you would like to nominate a captain that would be good, I'm leaving the scoring to them this year as I did it last year, though I note your offer of help NewApproach. Are you registered with TRF ? Scoring needs to be updated on both forums through the afternoon ideally.

Oh, I'm not registered there I don't think - hopefully someone from TRF will take it on but I can register if necessary nearer the time.

I’m registered on both but in Vegas from this weekend until the night before the racing so not going to have the time I’m afraid - and I’ll be a wreck for a day or two when I’m back no doubt.

I have changed the rules so that the first player drawn out will be the captain for this year's contest and their selections will be used again for any absentees, so they don't actually have to do anything, just that their selections are used again if any team member fails to post.

    Rules

Entries can be made on either the Talking Horses Forum or The Racing Forum regardless of which team the player represents. Each team will consist of 16 players including one captain.

A draw is made on the Monday prior to the meeting whereby players are paired together and compete with each other by nominating one selection in each of the six races at Ascot’s Champions Day meeting with one selection noted as a nap. The first player to be drawn out on each side will be the captain for this year’s contest.

A virtual £2 win bet will be placed on the nap with a virtual £1 win bet on your other selections. In the event a nap is not nominated, all selections will be settled on a £1 win basis. Stake money will not be included in any returns but losing selections result in losing the virtual stake. If your selection is a non runner, the virtual stake is placed on the favourite for that race, however joint or co favourites will be settled accordingly. For the purpose of this competition any Rule 4 deductions will be ignored. Selections (one reserve for each race allowed) must be in by 1.15PM and no submissions or alterations are permitted thereafter. In each match the winning player scores 3 points, a tie will be scored as 1 point each and the winning forum will be the one who scores most points. If the result is a tie the accumulated profit (or loss) of all the players in their respective team will be the deciding factor.

If a team member fails to post selections, the captain’s selections are used again on behalf of that player. If the captain fails to post selections on the day, the captain’s and all absent players score will be calculated as a losing selection on each race including one nap.

Any disputes (the decision of Nathan and Diamond Geezer is final.

Cormack15 has kindly offered a copy of the book “Queen’s Of The Turf” for the highest scoring individual.

As TRF are unable to come up with a scorer on the day and I will not be online that day, NewApproach will be looking after the scores.

Draw for this competition will be posted Wednesday.

Are we absolutely certain that the prize put-up by TRF isn't just a book of pictures of Flat jockeys?

And there was me thinking I’d start by getting into Cormack’s head, taking him to the darkest dark places that he didn’t even know existed, where howls of anguish are never heard. But instead he’s scuppered that idea by sending me a nice photo of himself. How can I get into this guy’s head? He looks adorable.
