Will have to get over there if the plan to close Kempton goes ahead

His Thistle will Crack, when the Henderson horse canters all over him.

If I wasn't already on MB, Whisper at 20/1 would make plenty of appeal, based on his Cheltenham and Aintree runs behind the Biter........though not convinced that Hendo would run them in opposition to each other.

Have you given up on Cue Card at this stage Nick?

Absolutely........they all have their form tail-off eventually, and much as I love the horse, he is a no-hoper in the KG, as far as I'm concerned (and likely the same in any G1 over 3m).

I disagree and won't totally write him off until he starts disappointing on the track

For most horses, last season would have been viewed as a triumph (two grade 1 wins and second in two others) but you tend to think it was disappointing

He's still had less than 40 career runs, loves the course, it can often cut-up to a handful of runners, he'll definitely be targeted and there have even been a few 11 year old winners in the last couple of decades

Perhaps he is EW value at 25/1...

I expressed similar sentiments about Moscow Flyer in his final season too, Perp. Age catches-up with them all, and the truly great horses tend to fall faster and further than most.

A horse like Tea For Two wouldn't see which way Cue Card went in his pomp, but CC is anchored around that level now, and he certainly isn't going to improve. He is also going to be facing a particularly-promising batch of second-season chasers, and some very good established ones. I can't have him for the King George at all, I'm afraid.

Assuming Douvan won't run I'd be all over Might Bite if the race was today. He would have beat Thistlescrack by a fence had he run in the King George .....can't see any the likely runners keeping tabs on him round Kempton.

He's a soft ground horse Ben. He can't be entirely ruled out on that, and you'd be pretty sure you'd get a good run for your money on that ground.

If the good lord cry's his eyes out this season, especially around December 25th, this could bring Cue Card back to his usual, high-level standard.

He may still only manage fourth or fifth, but it would be a nice way to go out, behind a champions league field.
