    Mark Pitman

Didn't know that Crisp's 'jockey' was now training racehorses!

Crisp's jockey's son I think you'll find. Not easy to say after a few sips.

Well he was a NH trainer 10-15 years ago but seemed to lose the plot, after some distinct promise. He now seems to be training again.

    Did he ride Garrison Savannah?

We got a terrific run out of the annual 'Monsignor back in training' gags. A top horse.

Pitman is a shouty arsehole of a man, and his father is an egotistical prick who likes the sound of his own voice. Just my opinion on the latter but the former is based on knowing people who have worked for him.

Didn't know that. Fair play to the bloke. But it's still possible to be an egotistical prick who likes the sound of his own voice and donate a kidney.

And the guy was a total stranger. too. He can be a shouty-arsed prick all day long for all I care, but if he has done that, he gets a pass from me.

Richard Pitman is a very nice guy and certainly not as described above. And yes I do know him (although perhaps not as well as he would like! as many of my Facebook contacts can testify!)

Jenny Pitman, his mother, trained some of the best looking horses Ive ever seen on a racecourse.

They were the most powerful looking steeplechasers you could imagine.

Golden Freeze, Jibber The Kibber, Garrisson Savanah,Toby Tobias to name just a few.

Corbiere and Esha Ness to win the Grand National, although the latter was a voided race (2nd fastest time ever recorded)

Punching errant jockeys will presumably be sanctioned as an alternative punishment for insufficient effort.

    Tremendous news - long overdue.

Willsford and Egypt Mill Prince are shocking omissions from her best of list.

In the 80s, I was the silent 'dummy' in what would have been an interesting bridge foursome over a cup of tea at Chepstow with Jenny P, Capt Tim Forster and (my trainer) Graham Thorner. Would have sorted Brexit in 5 minutes without recourse to Les Dawson's secret daughter.
The older I get the better I was.

Surely Corbiere Esher Ness and Royal Athlete put Jenny Pitman up there as one of the greatest trainers of staying chasers of all time.
Only Fred Rimmel since 1900 has managed to win it with more horses 4 wins (E.S.B., 1956; Nicolaus Silver, 1961; Gay Trip, 1970; Rag Trade, 1976)

The latter, FYI, Rag Trade was owned by one of the real characters of racing, some may remember, Hairdresser extraordinaire Mr Teezie-Weezie who is said to have charged Diana Doors more than it cost to buy a house for a Shampoo and Set.
So If you want a National winner buy some Sunsilk 0)
