3/1 now

I'm no pace analyst but the maiden hurdle on the same card was run 27 seconds quicker carrying more weight.
Where are you getting that from Bear? According to Irish Racing.com getabird won in 4m 5 seconds whereas Impact Factor won her maiden in 4m 11.70 seconds.

ATR site. One of them is clearly wrong.
27 seconds seems like a huge disparity. Just checked the Racing Post and they have the same time as IR.

Sporting Life agree with ATR. Where's that thread about top bugbears in racing because this sort of thing is right up there. How can they not have got a grip on this yet?
They must be wrong tho. If it was 7 seconds difference for a grade 1 v a maiden you’d raise eyebrows, never mind 27 seconds!!

I timed it there myself. 4m 5 secs is correct.

I've just watched the ATR replay. The race starts 5 seconds into the footage and Getabird crosses the line at 4:11 so the time on the sites you've looked at are right KA.
This has made me revisit a discussion I was having with Grassy last year about the merits of Defi Du Seuil for this years Champion Hurdle. Again I was quoting ATR times to show he was significantly slower than Arctic Fire on the same day. Winning times as follows:-
Triumph Hurdle
ATR 4m 20s.
SL 4m 20s
RP 4m 0s
Replay on The Jockey Club website 4m 3s or thereabouts
County Hurdle
ATR 4m dead.
SL 4m dead
RP 4m dead
Replay on Jockey Club website 4m dead or thereabouts
Not only are they wrong but there's no consistency in their errors! I'm not entirely sure what's going on here.
The only sure way is to devise your own method and stick to that for all races. I tend to time them all from when the leader jumps the first hurdle & that gives a true time because sometimes horses charge to the first, other times they’re all walking waiting for someone else to make the running.

Getabird better suited to the 2m 4f race? Personally I hope so as have already taken a position on Sharjah for the supreme.
I get the impression Sharjah has shown miles more at the track than at home to date, considering the price he's gone off at and who's ridden him so far.

As things stand Getabird is their best novice and can win over minimum and intermediate trips.
Will take something to get him off the bit.
sharjah would want to be impressive come February.
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done
It’s worth noting that they went very hard up front in the Christmas race both Sharjah & Real Steal fell in at the last and Sharjah was all over the winner when he fell. Indeed under the strong pace Real Steal fell off the pace and had to be ridden leaving the back straight before getting his 2nd wind again. That was a G1 over 2 miles off level weights. Getabird was getting 6lbs yesterday in much worse conditions.
It’s also worth noting that in post race comments Mullins remarked how all the rain we’ve had recently helped Getabird no end.
Sharjah was racing on much better ground at Leopardstown and was absolutely cursing so that bodes well for March. Mullins also commended on how much speed he had after his Gowran win last November so i’d imagine he’ll be a Supreme horse. After Getabird’s maiden win in December he was talking about him as a staying novice.
That has probably changed somewhat now but this is Willie Mullins. Next Destination could end up in the Supreme yet!! All in all 3/1 is a crazy price for the Supreme.

You wouldn't blame Sharjah for "absolutely cursing" at Leopardstown, falling at the last like that with the race at his mercy.
Patrick was talking before yesterday's race about Getabird possibly going up in distance again on better ground. Whatever they decide, Getabird is high class.
Gordon Elliott gave the impression talking today about Mengli Khan that he might do better against Getabird if they meet again. Maybe he will, but I still haven't forgiven him for Leopardstown. He didn't run out yesterday but coming up the straight I don't think his head was fully concentrated on the job.
I tend to think that Mengli Khan might benefit from a break. I'd put him away for Punchestown.
The older I get the better I was.
A glimmer of hope for backers of Sharjah for supreme. Getabird is entered for both the Deloitte 2mile and the longer 2m 6f novice hurdle races at the Dublin racing festival. Sharjah only entered for the 2m race. Either way it's unlikely WPM runs both Ricci horses against each other in the Deloitte, isn't it ?!?
