Read in Racing Post Thursday last that Jim Bolger has sent 40 mares to Fracas this year.
It suggests that Dawn Approach is not what he should be but early days yet.
ED, I'll put up some figures when we reach the same point as I did last year's table - next Sunday.
Jedi Master was a winner for RED JAZZ yesterday.
Today's runners:

Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......
I've been having a look at A.P. O'Brien's 2-y-o runners in Ireland having noticed how many of his superbly bred horses fail to win on their first outings.
From 2014 to the present day 9.8% of his first time 2-y-os have won. The percentage of winners on their second run leaps to 32.7 but you would still have made a loss backing them.
So far this season he has had no first-time winners but 44.4% have won on their second run but still you would have made a loss.
So there doesn't seem to be a way of making a profit by backing them, not a layer myself but would that have some possibilities?
With Ascot on the horizon I've had a look at Aiden's 2-y-o record there.
2014 he had three runners War Envoy, The Great War and Dick Whittington all of them were beaten.
2015 four runners Air Force Blue (lost), Washington DC (won 5/1), Waterloo Bridge (won 12/1) and Ballydoyle (lost).
Last year 2016 was much busier with seven runners; three winners Caravaggio (13/8), Brave Anna (16/1) and Churchill (8/11) and the losers Pedestal, Roly Poly, Peace Envoy and Cuff.
A couple of nice priced winners showing a pretty profit for his followers.
Probably go 'tits up' this year it's the way of the world - ho hum.

Great insight Col, thank you. Certainly won't be backing them at Ascot.
Another one for Society Rock. Still 3/1 with Racebets. Looks a great price to me. Sadly they won't lay me another penny.
Thanks Col
War Command won the Coventry at a juicy 20/1 in 2013 too as well as Power in 2011 and Cristoforo Colombo finishing 2nd in '12.
Didn't want to delve into ancient history, Fonz, but thanks for that.
Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......
And still some 8/1 available about Declarationofpeace for this years race.....
Two FSS winners yesterday; SOCIETY ROCK successful with So Hi Society and RED JAZZ with Jedi Master (two wins in two days for this one). In addition the TOUGH AS NAILS colt Tough Remedy finished second after being very unlucky in running.

SOCIETY ROCK - Roses In June (24.3) 66/1

Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......
Are there any evident trends on whether the FSS sires are showing a preference for a particular type of course, going etc? I am very interested as to which of these sires are looking like showing a preference for a particular A/W surface, especially Tapeta.
Any trend would be based on a very small sample.

No winners yesterday but I feel it is worth giving a mention to the DAWN APPROACH colt Nomorecalls. Colty in the paddock, reluctant to load and still showing off, broke well and began the race on 'five legs', in the circumstances ran really well competing for the lead with the eventual winner before his antics beforehand took their toll and faded into third.
Today's runners
Ripon 2.00
SOCIETY ROCK - Shaheen (5.2) 11/2
Haydock 2.40
SOCIETY ROCK - Gift In Time (29.4) 4/1
Haydock 3.10
DABIRSIM - Fenagh (7.2) 50/1
Leopardstown 5.50
DAWN APPROACH - Back At Dawn (17.3) 9/1
EPAULETTE - Dianthus (1.2) 100/1
Carlisle 6.40
CITYSCAPE - Barney George (1.4) 18/1
Ah! but a man's reach should exceed his grasp......
Desperate Dan (8th June 2017)
Both Society Rocks placed and look certain future winners
Colin
This is a quality thread, you are doing great stuff here. In another month I will have some input regarding what some of these first seasoners seem to like or not like regarding going and track type. Its just too early at the moment, but when we get to the 2nd half of the season, I feel this thread can be very profitable, even without betting on which sire will be top dog. Thats not to say it isn't now, but the more input from others the better.
Please do not think its not being appreciated, it is greatly so being. Many thanks for your efforts. One of the better threads anywhere on the internet regarding horse racing.

Anyone see September's win just now at Leopardstown, looked pretty impressive from what little I know about 2yo's.
Most visually impressive debut I have seen in a while. By Peeping Fawn, will stay. Interesting to see Coolmoore promote Deep Impact with some of their better mares.

And that small head knew that Impaire Et Passe would win the Champion Hurdle."
