Perhaps Appleby is getting the Suroor horses and doing a better job? Its a mystery to me how Bin Suroor has kept his job all this time; he's hardly delivered given the horse flesh he's had and yet he still feels confident enough to publicly denounce Ferguson....

Well he's trained a Derby winner and not that many trainers have done that but he certainly wouldn't be on my radar as a trainer to follow, ED.

But because of your input and recently Flame's I thought it worth having a look at the numbers.

I feel his 2yos are a touch better this year. The last 2 years have been pretty abysmal.

I also feel his Oaks winner was probably his finest moment. She was pretty good the day she won her race as Midday was no slouch. As you say not many train a Derby winner and Motivator was pretty good, though probably only an average Derby winner.

Headway ran a fine race yesterday. Havana Gold seems to be getting some nice 2yos. Headway should get further I'd think.

Flame had singled him out as useful in his gallops column.

    Wanna make money on 2yo?

Never saw so many crap results involving 2 year olds in years. Yet another race, this time at hamilton where 2 horses being backed to the exclusion of all the others and none of the two of them raised a gallop.

Not just the odd one but it's happened in loads of 2yo races where the first 2 fav run nowhere

it would seem trainers don't have a clue what they are doing or what they have at home.

Long may it continue laying them is very rewarding
