you can have those on betfair Slim
The e/w markets on Betfair are a very good addition but obviously these bets are more value with a sportsbook albeit this kind of business gets you closed.

I think the biggest problem these days is complete mugs get restricted because they have low margin bets. These customers may not even be aware that these bets are good value.

i just don't see the arbing as a long term project..you will get found out and reduced to a level that makes arbing poiintless

far better spend time finding a winning strategy overall and just play betfair..as the alternative is spend same time looking for arbs and being restricted to 20 quid bet or whatever

to me arbing was a novelty when betfair started..now its exposed and as such isn't really going to put bread on the table as bookies are aware of it..it was a glich for a while..but surely now that time has passed

the arbing game was an "in that time" strategy..not a long time burner imo
its paid for 2 family Florida Disney holidays so I'm glad I did it!
The enhanced football specials are easy money eg) X wins and BTTS
I don't arb where you win either way, I take the bookie price then lay on betfair....if the horse loses...no loss to me and if it wins I win the difference. I had upwards of 20 accounts including "wife" and played them for well over a year.
Enjoyed it immensely and couldn't care a less to be restricted: Don't and won't bet using my own money.....had years of that

I guess my outlook is very simple..back a few horses..if it makes money..i'm happy as i must be doing something others punters aren't seeing..so i just stick to betfair

hosses for courses as they say.

you guys are shrewder than i am with the betting..not my strength tbh...i just want a profit

I see no real reason now not to use exchanges more I dont obsess over the fractions too much because im not betting much at all.

whats odd about this is that account has been at same level for around three years. why now?

It takes years to master Betfair. Its not easy. I've finally got my account into black. It takes a different style of betting on there.

Can you post your last 5 bets? Needless to say some young lad has got a job in their trading room and shot his load after you had a good bet.

Its the bets not the winning that matters.

Yeah that can be true. I would have more respect for a €200 bet from someone in particular rather than a 10k from someone else.

Mutiples are available but at SP only.........btw I can't bet on the UK sportsbook as that privilege is used up by my Aussie account but I had a multiple bet today. I can't take prices outside of the exchange

Some incredibly interesting posts on this thread.Boylesports were the first to close me down and unfortunately it made me feel I was a lot better as a punter then I actually was.
My brother is the ultimate recreational punter -bets €2 here, there and everywhere -was restricted by Ireland's leading bookmaker last year-no way he could possibly win but chased the dream every day.

Boyles refused me £120ew on something the other day. I gradually reduced the stakes to see what they would take. When they refused £1ew I asked them to close the account and refund my balance.

Ladbrokes restrict me to bets to win £50 - my crime was to win about £800 over the course of a few bets.

Betfair sportsbook restricted me after one £200 bet - it was a loser but I took 15/8 and it went off odds on.

All the others have been fine with reasonable large bets and in some cases decent profits. Agree with Slim re bookies vs Betfair. There's a massive advantage in taking early prices, each way terms and being able to do multis. By the time the Betfair market has sufficient liquidity it's close to efficiently priced.

Me mate billion has had the chop from boylesport and he bets two quid max.
The only firm to restrict me are racebets and that's because they don't have the slots. Play a tenner or so on them a week win or lose and they'll keep you.

This is a good article which reflects a lot of the discussion on here.

I think Alex Salmond is right that the way to counter these practices is to make it a condition of a bookmaker licence that they accept any bets at advertised odds to win a reasonable amount.

I would also suggest a panel to which customers can appeal if they get restricted or closed down. The panel would have the power to seek a confidential explanation from the bookmaker, supported by facts, and decide whether their behaviour is reasonable. Unreasonable decisions could be reported to the licencing authority and taken into account when licences are up for renewal.
