Bit harsh Suny. Still young, so think he deserves a bit of time before having a strong opinion.

Comparing him to Walsh is unfair at this stage. Or probably at any stage but Nicholls should have got the chequebook out for Cooper or Townend. The latter must surely still be a possibility although Nicholls really could do with a few more powerful owners. His young stock has been getting worse. Mullins and Ricci seem to be buying it all.

I've been quite impressed with STD lately. He certainly got it wrong on the novice last Sunday and reading between the lines Nicholls thinks he got something else wrong that day but he was excellent on Sam Winner (rode Geraghty to sleep) and didn't do much wrong on Caid Du Berlais in two of the biggest races of the day.

I agree. Pocket talked a bit but ride on sam winner was surely one of the rides if the season. He just kept him interested enough without overdoing it. Must have taken incredible strength too.

The problem Sam has in relation to Ruby is that Ruby can give a horse a complete balls of a ride get off the horse and tell the owners he made a balls of it but will win the next day.He has being doing this with syndicates in Ireland for years.I suppose half the problem of being stable jockey to Nicholls is managing the expectations of owners.
