I'd imagine they had him walking. I'd be amazed if they had a concern about him and rode him out. Clearly he's not lame and they need the swelling to go down before getting a clean scan. If it was bad, he'd be on box rest. But it doesn't sound brilliant either.

This is how I'm thinking too. A bit more on it:

“His bone is clear,” Grimthorpe said April 16. “If that was the issue, we would be more relaxed about it as we would know it would heal over time. Soft-tissue injuries are different; they are often more problematical.”

“We are still positive, Henry has a lot of experience and he suggests the horse might well be OK, although the situation is a little like being a bit pregnant. If anything shows up, a little hole (in his tendon) is as bad as a big one. There is nothing for it but to wait and see what the scan shows.”

Confirmed on sporting life as well. Lockinge not ruled out yet either as he'll be back into full training.

    Best news i've had today!!!

Great news. Sea The Stars, Goldikova and Frankel etc etc have really livened up the flat over the last few years. Nice to see Frnakel back on track.

Seriously good news. Hopefully the scan sees it right. I really hope that he won't fail to do himself justice this season. This colt is a bit special and just coming into the best of himself.

Great news for those of us hoping to lay Frankel to within an inch of his life this season.

As opposed to laying Frankel to within an inch of your life this season? There's a considerable difference.

He's right. Cirrus Des Aigles will be one of the best EW bets in history when he lines up against Frankel.
I'm bored of this. I'm going for a Twix.

I'm delighted there's at least one horse who'll keep Frankel honest over 10f.

How do you think they'll ride Frankel over 10f this year?

I hope so but I think they'll hold him up first time over 10f. If he gets it will i'd revert to front running. His Sussex and Guineas wins last year were the best front running performances i can remember seeing on the flat.

If the other jocks have any sense they won't let him loose on the front end.

They'd be mad to run him wire to wire from the front at 10 furlongs and Cecil knows better than to do that. They don't want to kill him or get him beat (Queally nearly handed the race to Zoffany at Ascot when trying to kill them off too far out). He needs holding on to and unwiding from about two furlongs out. There isn't a horse alive that will get near him ridden this way.

Did you see the Sussex and Guineas Steve? They were front running rides. The Ascot ride was something altogether different - Frankels class saving his jockey's blushes I'd call it.

The Sussex was the race that should have told you what I was already saying that he wants 10 furlongs. The Guineas was a one off that when Queally tried to repeat at Ascot nearly came unstuck. The horse certainly saved the jockey's blushes that day and Cecil was not best pleased. Those races were at a mile if you try to win like he did in the Guineas at 10 furlongs you will either kill the horse or lose. Which is why they won't be riding him that way in 10 furlong races this season.
