    Frankel

Surely Frankel's campaign should be on the lines of this:

    Lockinge
    POW
    Sussex
    International
    Irish Champion
    Arc

Don't you think Abdulla would like to finish his career at the Breeders' Cup? He seems to love the meeting. Also, can't see him running over 12f, but you never know.

The Classic is the likely aim.

    I think Frankel will run

    Lockinge
Pr Of Wales or Queen Anne
    International
    Champion

I would like to see him:
    Lockinge
    P of Wales
    International
    Irish Chmapion
    Arc

All going well, I see it as:

Lockinge / Eclipse / International / BC Classic

Maybe a go at the Prince of Wales or Sussex too.

If I owned him he'd be coming into this season rated 60 and the campaign would be as follows...

    Quiet spin in a handicap
    Gamble landed in a handicap
    Gamble landed under a penalty
Gamble landed under a double penalty
    Gamble landed off new mark
    Gamble landed in conditions
    Gamble landed in listed
    Gamble landed in group 3
Then win everything on route to the Irish champion, arc, breeders and japan. Maybe a spin at Dundalk too.

The three quick spins over 2m 4F over hurdles on bottomless ground getting a mark of 93....
    Then
    1) Quiet spin in a handicap
    2) Send the word out today is the day in a handicap, put everyone away, and give him a quiet spin..
    3) Land monster SP touch in handicap running him in three different coloured leg bandages
    4) Pot hunt rest of season taking in Boylesports, Ladbroke, Betfair and Champion Hurdles

    Easy

I've split these posts out from another thread... if anyone deserves his own thread this flat season, its Frankel.

I was hoping to get to Newbury for the Lockinge to see him in the flesh but I don't see it happening now.

    Queen Anne
    Eclipse (8 lengths)
    International (canter)
    Champion
    Breeders Cup Turf
    I could be the judge!

They have already said that his end Of season aim will be the English Champion Stakes.

Was this before or after they said the Breeders Cup? There's only a couple of weeks between them, so it will be one or the other.

I thought it was almost certain that he was going for the eclipse. Hope so

Lockinge, Queen Anne, Eclipse, International, BC Classic is the most likely. I'd like them to slot the Arc in between the International and BC Classic but they wrap him up in cotton wool and reckon he'll be given a break.

At the back end of last season, they were even making noises that they'd prefer the BC Mile to the Classic because they didn't think he'd be as effective on dirt.

He's a moral to run in International given the sponsor and his love for running his horses in the race. Would be amazed if he ran in the Irish Champion.
I'm bored of this. I'm going for a Twix.

All vibes I've seen are that British Champions Day is a bigger priority than Breeders' Cup. Imo, without Frankel there, BCD will surely have failed in its aims.

Agree with this - would be nice to have the best older horse taking on the best 3yo middle distance colt this early in the season again (just need to get the 3yo there now).

Yes Stamp. It sets down a good early marker, proving two criteria in one go

Henry isnt one whos greatly enthused about the Bc is he? I suspect he will stay on these shores for the BCD.

I think Henry's instinct will be to keep Frankel in the south east of England. Even York and Newbury will worry him, never mind the Breeders Cup, France or Ireland.

I doubt Sir H would want to take him away from Newmarket given the choice but he's Khalid Abdullah's best horse and named after his best trainer who'll be forever linked with the BC as one of its most successful trainers.

I think there'll certainly be some serious temptation to run Frankel at teh BC and he ran on Champions Day last year and as such has nothing left to prove at Ascot (providing he beats Black Caviar if they meet)
