    17:55 Leicester - Zaria e/w

(Very open event, but had a modest interest at 8/1 with Willie Hill. Thought e/w best way to go. Form not bad and trip would appear ideal).

    Good luck Bolero.

Hill's first one Zula Girl beaten but it was a big drifter out to 12's so no surprise. Charles Hills other 5 chances all well backed though today, including Struck By The Moon, (that runs later at Newcastle, 18's into 9's!). I haven't given up on this project yet. Hoping for at least 3 winners, but I'm not sure. Who knows. The rest are at least all well supported.

Thanks Benny, that's racing, glad I opted for e/w though, eases the pain just a little!

Landed a winner in the last race at 3/1, but the day didn't exactly set my world alight.

Sporting Life verdict goes for Viva Steve tomorrow. That's good.

Bay Of freedom could be anything though.

Muthabir could be progressive. 119 is not a high mark for a horse with a 20+ percent win strike rate over hurdles (3/14). Worth a shekel at 10/1 or so. He should be shorter.

Potters Point looks looks appealing in tomorrows Kerry National at 9/1. Lisa O'Neill takes 5lb off so off 10 stone in tomorrows conditions, if he gets into a rhythm he'll run a huge race.

He gets 3miles for the first time under rules and out of Robin Des Champs he should handle the heavy going. The form of his Galway festival second has been franked since and he looks like he has the right profile for this race.

    14:10 Carlisle - Excellent Times.

(Distance should be OK on this demanding track, but whether she'll act on the prevailing heavy ground is open to question; soft would have been alright. Modest punt with Willie Hills at 6/1).

Not too bad a run, well behind easy winner though. Almost certainly needs further. Had a speculative bet on James Eclipse in the last at Listowel (17:35), and that will do me for today!

Two fourths places for me today with Muthabir and Viva Steve, both over jumps. I'm happy with that. Shows slightly more consistency than my flat selections this summer!

WD with PP, Cool Robin rider gave winner too much of a lead otherwise you'd have been collecting there too

Thanks Marble. Ya, that was a bad ride in those conditions 2017. He gave Cool Robin way too much to do. You could see turning 3 or 4f out he'd set him a very hard task. Strange as he's usually more aware than that.

Anyway Potters Point made it a good day so I'll quit while ahead. Great to see the NH cracking into gear again.

Good front-running ride by the lady jockey on James Eclipse. Honestly feel Cool Robin had every chance, but just could not peg back the winner?

    Hexham 6:40

Dica lumps around 12:7 on soft ground, which allows other horses to run with relatively low weights. The in-form mare MISS MACKIE, will take some beating, on this ground, back at Hexham, where she was third last time. She almost dead heated for second place with Dica the last day, but is more attractive and well-off at the weights.

Miss Mackie win, (5/1 or thereabouts).

Laurens in the May Hill. I haven't played AP in either Guineas for a number of years now but I have a nice price about the Wertheimer filly Polydream who was deeply impressive at Deauville a few weeks ago. She beat Laurens who is bred to stay and who pulled clear of the rest of the field that day as well (the filly in 4th sandwiched Tajaanus and Billesden Brook at Sandown ) I have 5s and 9/2 and expect a good run for my money.

That is absolutely correct, I am guilty too, but was busy in town yesterday so missed it. So, a belated well done Kauto Abu with Potters Point. Fine shout in a difficult race.
