The race is tomorrow but I've backed it today so technically it falls into the "what are you backing today" category.

Behind Time won on the Greatwood card with any amount in hand and he was considerably green the whole way round so he's open to plenty of improvement.

That was off a mark of 115 and as it was a conditionals race he escapes a penalty and runs off the same mark tomorrow. He was strongest at the finish there so seems sure to relish the extra 3f.

Keiron Edgar keeps the ride and in taking off 3lb allows the horse to run here off 9st13lb.

Harry Fry was quoted straight after the race as saying they'll try to find something in the next 12 days for him before his new mark kicks in, the twelfth day is tomorrow and his new mark is 128 so he's officially 16lb well in here including the jockey's claim.

There are some decent horses in opposition, not least the returning Shantou Bob and six-timer chasing El Bandit but I find it incredibly hard to imagine them giving two stone to the JP horse.

Just nabbed some of the odds against with Betfair.

Terrible yesterday, can't do any worse.

    Today's Selections:

    1.05 - Newbury - Remiluc. 2.5 pts win. Available at 9/2.
Sirabad finally unleashed his potentially when winning easily last week at Wincanton. He is still two pound well in with a seven pound penalty and, if he improves again, he could be difficult to beat but this is a better race and there are viable alternatives. Preference among the others is for Remiluc. He showed a decent level of form as a Novice Hurdler last season and improved for his reappearance at Fontwell by easily winning at the same track last time out. That has seen his mark rocket up to 132 and, if he translate that ability to fences, he would be very well handicapped here off 120.

    2.00 - Doncaster - Duke Arcadio. 1.5 pts win. Available at 15/2.
Several of these have plenty of potential as Chasers. Making his debut over fences, Duke Arcadio, could be well handicapped if he repeats his effort in a Maiden hurdle when last seen in February. He has the looks and breeding to be effective in this sphere and he is with a yard who have a 17% strike rate with their Chasers in handicaps in recent seasons. The step up in trip should illicit further improvement from this former Irish Point winner and he will have no problem with underfoot conditions. The Trainer sends just the one to the races today and the jockey turns up for just the one booked ride.

    2.10 - Newbury:
The Romford Pele. 1 pt win. Available at 11/1.
Ubak. 1 pt win. Available at 11/1.

    3.20 - Newbury - Solomon Grundy. 2 pts win. Available at 13/2.

Think Menorah 9-1 Betfair is a cracking EW bet.

I nearly took another spanking but Solomon Grundy pulled me out of the proverbial.

Bristol De Mai (3.30 N/C) should come on a bundle for today's step up in trip and softer ground, and looks a solid bet at the current 4/1.
