I was told months ago that The Nephew was being aimed at this race today which just confuses the issue for me.

He won easily enough in April at Newton Abbott and then was given a 2 months break

I'm told on his return he was as big as a barn door when Will Kennedy rode him on his return to Newton Abbot. All thing considered he gave him an excellent pipe opener, allowing him to do his own thing and despite jumping right at some of his fences he barely touched a twig all the way round until blowing up after the 3rd last.

Job done McCoy who had had got off him at Newton Abbott and rode the winner stepped in at Market Rasen next time and The Nephew won as he liked jumping from fence to fence.

Over hurdles The Nephew wouldn't have gotten anywhere near AP's mount plus he's been raised 10lbs since Market Rasen but I doubt if a stone would have stopped him winning last time.

It's a Gimme also won last time up but at 2/5 by 1/2 length against nothing but to be fair AP had plenty horse under him and won cleverly. He remains on the same mark hence his price today.

It would seem both have been laid out for this. One an up and coming young chaser who looks like in time he could go to the top and another who would have eaten this field for breakfast over hurdles a couple of seasons ago.

I reckon AP would have been happy to ride either and there's certainly not 10 point between them in the betting.

I just prefer The Nephew who jumps like stag and is likely to force the pace which could find more than a few of these out.

The Nephew currently 14.5 or was

    Saver; It's a Gimme

Seems like along way for the Frenchies to send a horse to get his ar$e kicked by Al Kazeem

Roger Charlton's horse are running really well and considering his stable star has won 1st time up twice before I can't see him not being fit enough to beat this below average looking field today

    Al Kazeem 3.05

I fancy Llanarmon Lad to defy his penalty for his very impressive recent win when Ryan Moore rode him.

While Moore will be trying to work his magic on Fury who I wouldn't back with bad money Cam Hardy takes valuable 5lbs of Llanarmon Lad's back.

A smart booking by his trainer should see him win again

    Llanarmon Lad 6.2 (Nap)

6/1 is far too big - bet of the week, imo.
I shall follow you in there reet

Interesting stats but I’ve already taken a punt on Fire Fighting (16/1) in that race, the overnight outsider of the field. He’s top rated with me on his seasonal debut run when a close fourth off 92 in a valuable race at Haydock. He’s 10lbs lower here following three subsequent disappointing runs but jockey bookings suggest he is at least more strongly fancied than Notarised. I just thought the 16/1 was a bit generous although it will look skimpy if he runs like the last three times!

You were right to oppose Al Kazeem and Nabucco not too far away.

Just a note and I haven't really been studying hard....

But Bell's only runner today at Newmarket 3.05 is the 2yo "Thunder in Myheart" this holds entries in the "Tattersalls" races in Sep & Oct. So maybe the 10-1 on offer here is prob worth a punt as I guess they believe it to have something....

But you know me always looking for some odd angle, but at 10's I will have a go.

BTW... Es Que Love runs in 3.15, due a win and a drop back to Grp3, 2lbs lighter than when 2nd to Hamza in this class back in April, will go close.

Apologies Fonz, suspected he'd get beat when I heard about the going changes. To add insult to injury, I swerved Music Master as I was convinced the Newbury ground would worsen.
Maybe I should train as a weather forecaster?

She's been on the go since the first week of the flat.

An admirable filly who seems to improve with every run.

I'll get shouted down here for after timing.
The wife makes me pull over by a bookies today and says I hear there is a horse called Tiggy Wiggy running today, I want to back it because of the name. (My profile name is a bit of a clue). As I put the bet on for her, I had to back it for myself (first bet on the ferret racing for ages!).
7-2....nice, won by the proverbial mile.

Duke Cosimo in the 4.10 at Redcar. Went into my tracker on his second run for David Barron at Donny in May and has scope for further improvement.

SMS sends one horse all the way to Redcar today which is unusual to say the least.

I'm not even sure if he's ever had a runner there?

The idea is obviously to find an easy race for him but that doesn't mean he'll win

Watching the video of him run in his only outing didn't exactly fill me with confidence showing very little to get excited about.

Al Rayan ran a bit of a race for 3 furlongs behind the Wow Factor at Ayr but he looked as green as a cabbage. No doubt he'll have learned from that but he looks like one who might need another couple of runs before he gets the hang of things.

Spring Offensive is a different ball game all together. He looked every bit like a winner waiting to happen when finishing 3rd under a hands and heels ride at Hamilton.

There was a lot to like about the way he responded. He was obviously in need of the run coming from the Richard Fahey yard and going off at 20/1.

Spring Offensive 4/1 will hopefully make it a good start to the day.

Get no medals for saying Black Cow will hack up but PN wouldn't find an easier race for him this side of China. One More Tune couldn't beat me round a race course and the rest should be pulling carts for living.

Can't remember the last time I backed a 1/3 shot but all the winnings if Spring Offensive obliges are going on then it's out to the pub.

    Happy punting.

Don't worry about it my Partner is Thai and was sitting a few feet away on the sofa when she heard the name and asked what"s a Tiggy Wiggy and when I told her she said back that one LOL

Unfortunately unlike you I never listened.

In the last five years Sir Michael Stoute has had two runners at Redcar both lost.
