And a Stokie! (Or nearly - hiyaa, divna!) I lived near the Potteries for a few years - still have pals back there, they're really friendly towards foreigners from outside the county, aren't they? I expect you enjoy going to Uttoxeter, then. I certainly did - a smashing course.

It's not bad, is Uttoxeter, if you can stand the sight of all that green!! I've ridden around Uttoxeter - coming around the final bend on the hurdle track in a flat race can be pretty hairy....one or two jocks looked like jumping the chase fences...

Hi to all the new guys, enjoy!!

    Hi everyone,

I'm another new member here. Am mad about both codes of racing, especially Flat. Love all the pedigree/bloodstock side of it too.

I'm sure there will be lots of lively debate on here!

For all the giving out about this board it seems to me in the last few weeks things have gotten quite busy on Talkinghorses. Granted Cheltenham and Aintree fueled the debate but we have new members like The Pro, Powerscourt,Dean,Zozzy,Watson Lake,Purr,AliGupter,Griffin,Euronymous etc all posting away pretty regularly. All of these and others have joined since the start of the new year. The OH crowd have joined in too. More the merrier. Certainly this forum in terms of posts is far busier than many of the other forums.

    Not all doom and gloom.

Yes, I'll second and third that! I love the new names, too: 'DrizzleCity'! (Must be a Mancunian?) Welcome all, and get stuck in.

YOU've made some jokes? Quick! Show me! Ah, a Dubliner - far more chance we'll understand the accent, then.

That's either 'Northern Racing' or 'racing green'. You see, it's this lack of attention to detail that buggers up your posts. Maurice is running a course in Editting, Speling & Right Grammar Use, which I recommend to you.

Well-spotted, Hawk-Eye. No, they were (and still are) black, and they are mine own, and nowt to do with company issue! It's the bright green blazers that are - you didn't think I'd actually BUY something like that, did you?

And yet another newbie arrives. Hi there to everyone, a few of you i know already from places afar. B)
I'm in Northern Ireland but i was born and bred in Yorkshire long long ago. I got the racing bug in 1977 whilst watching Aintree, it wasn't Red Rum that made my jaw drop though it was actually watching the brilliant Night Nurse and wee Monksfield dead-heating that did it, addicted ever since
Look forwards to 'meeting' you all and no doubt mincing a few with you too!

    Cheers!
Hallowed ground, indeed, up Great Habton way.
