A star to note for the future. Broke his duck there this week and is apprentice now for J.S Bolger. Only 16, if he stays injury free he will go a long long way in this game.

Another winner today...2 from 3 rides..not bad percentage!
What relation if any to Willie?
He is Tony's son. I was at the Chetenham preview in the Goat in early March and Jim and Tony were on the panel. They were talking about Emmet and Patrick Mullins but Jim said they wouldn't have a prayer against another mullins.......and he smiled over at tony. Then Tony informed the crowd that Jim had been trying to convince him to send Danny to him.
Bolger is a great man to keep apprentices feet on the ground. Manning, Supple, Heffernan, McCoy, Moran etc etc took ages to lose their claims. He likes to protect their claim until they have a few years experience. I'd say he might be under a bit more pressure to give Danny more rides but he should stick to the tried and trusted method he has employed in the past. In fairness, Teacht an Earraig didn't need much riding but he seems to be a competent lad who holds himself together well. Unlike a lot of apprentices in Ireland who start off, he has a heap of experience in pony racing which will serve him well. But just like other apprentices who were called stars over the last ten years, when he starts losing his claim or loses it all together it is a completely different world. It normally takes a Bolger apprentice about five years to lose their claim, I hope he keeps Danny's feet on the ground.
He was the talk of the countryside with his success on the pony circuit. How is he fixed weight wise ?
Clare Balding for President.
That's interesting - I remember Jacqui Doyle getting in quite a stew the year that james was losing his claim so quickly. She was really worried it would have a detrimental effect in all kinds of ways. [He seems to have kept his feet on the ground though, and still gets plenty of rides esp with the Berks trainers, tho a lot fewer winners as you'd expect]
Young Mullins sounds a talent to watch, tho I'm going to get muddled with Mullinses I expect...
You might get muddled with Mullinses, Headstrong?
Are you wiry, jockey-sized and look a lot younger than your age?
Dyslexically, not sexually :P
What a day for this young lad! He looks a real star and is destined to be champion apprentice this year bar injury.
Must be something in the water down there
Some people say he’s the best since Arkle and that’s certainly true when you look at what he’s done
