He had just been sedated, nearly fell asleep against a wall on the way back!
Attain managed to both lose a front shoe and get struck into at Goodwood tonight unfortunately. Pictures below!
Hats off to Shirley Teasdale who got the train down from Thirsk all the way to...
Attain runs tonight in the 6.15 Goodwood. Expecting a big run from him stepped up in trip, he's really strengthened up in recent weeks and looks a big strapping horse now. He'll be fine on the track...
Attain has been declared in the 4.10 Brighton this afternoon, in a 6 runner maiden. Will be checking the ground before running though as he wouldn't want it too firm.
Obviously, Godolphin's will...
Thanks Kri. Should point out that Gaul Wood is with Tom Dascombe and my boss has the majority share (significant majority too!) although I would like him to go to Julia's yard one day.
Sail Home...
Thanks for the education Kri. I always feel guilty that my veterinary knowledge isn't what it should be given how involved I am with the sport these days as a punter and semi-owner!
Sail Home runs in the last at Goodwood over 1m3f in an amateurs race. Julia's son Ross will ride her and she has apparently been working very well at home. She's back to her last winning mark and the...
Gaul ended up lame after the race and an x-ray today has revealed he has a small stress fracture in one of his shins. He'll need a month off sadly but should be back by November.
Disappointing to...
Indeed. He nearly had to be put down 12 months ago after we bought him too, stepped on a nail and went straight through his hoof and had to have some serious surgery. Lucky to even have got him to a...
Absolutely delighted, never thought he'd run that well. Showed no signs of greenness, went in and came out of the stalls like an old warrior and ran an absolute blinder.
Will be looking to step up...
Gaul Wood makes his debut for us today in the 2.45 Wolverhampton, it's all about learning today and I can't see him winning but some mugs have been backing him at 7s (unless the yard have put us...
Sail Home runs tomorrow over 1m4f at Southwell, personally think she needs 1m4f and has ran well there before but has put some poor runs in now and looking for her to bounce back.
Won't run on Wednesday as it's going to be like a road at Brighton. Likely to go to Leicester on Sunday or Wolverhampton on Monday or Wednesday.
The two-year old that I'm essentially racing manager for now runs at Brighton next Wednesday afternoon.
Gaul Wood, trained by Tom Dascombe will be making his debut for us. Absolutely no idea what...
We do have a thread praising the best jockey riding at the moment though.
Drop me a PM if you'd like the lowdown on Eddie's shenanigans.
Colin hits the nail on the head and I'd throw in his "performances" on January 21st at Lingfield too.
He's partial to the complete opposite of whipping them too....
Sail Home got very warm before the race last night and was being a bit of a madame in the saddling box and the paddock. John seemed to think the big crowd and the blaring Irish band by the parade...
Sail Home runs again tonight in the 8.35 Pontefract, a fillies handicap over 1m2f. She's drawn one and the track should suit, I've not spoke to Julia but I imagine the plan is for Adam to front run...
Got to agree with Hamm here, I love the horse. Had a chunk on when he won this race last year when Hills gave him an amazing ride but he's not looked the same horse of late.
Awesome. Adam gave her an absolutely fantastic ride, I'd like to see her be ridden like that all the time.
Sail Home runs today in the 4.50 Yarmouth. She's working well at home but Julia is a little worried about the ground and Adam will walk the course before deciding if she'll run or not.
I...
I'll back Martin up on that one. :D
See you there Kri? I get in for free with my Sandown members badge so we won't need to have a row about Brighton's (absolutely ludicrous) admission prices after...
Not rated the card up SC but they did go what seemed like a fair pace for the trip, the whole card was quite slow so suspect it may actually come out quite quickly.
Disappointed with Sail Home really, she was a bit on edge in the pre-parade and being a bit frisky in her box but nothing untoward.
Cathy said she didn't stay the trip chasing that pace, not too...
