Anybody (else) see Poungach turning Fingal Bay over tomorrow?
Hurricane Fly is too short in terms of winning the Champion Hurdle in my opinion. To my eye his last two performances were most disappointing (Champion and at Punchestown), looking laboured in both,...
The vibes are good, the horse is definitely good, the opposition are nothing special.
Simonsig. :ninja:
I have politely suggested that they might reconsider. ;)
I suggested either this or the Hennessy (unconvinced he wants 3m+) and apparently they are 'tempted'.
Henderson's was more of an overview than specific comments on each horse wasn't it?
Looks an ideal target for this one and his mark looks fair. Jumping the question mark.

He's a bit out of date.....:ninja:
Does Howard have anything to add to the Simonsig chasing or hurdling debate?
For what it's worth (probably little!)....

I took 14/1. I find his current price pleasing as a result. ;)
Simonsig wins the Champion Hurdle.
Nicky Henderson as his string worked up the hill at Seven Barrows on Friday 20th January 2012: "Binocular, who's good; Oscar Whisky, who's good; Simonsig who's very good."
I think I've told you...
I've just watched it on repeat about 10 times. How in the name of all that is holy was that horse not outright Champion 2yo? Where were the BHA Handicappers looking at 2.30 on September 25th 2010?
Oh. My God.
I think Queally just couldn't hold him anymore. He took off like, I don't know, the best horse in the world. Ever.

I am far from being his biggest fan (he's beaten nought yet IMO) but I'd be lumping it on at 7/1. I'm not certain that he wants this test by any means but he's simply much better than the rest on...
That would have been a better example. For sheer visual astonishment, his Royal Lodge win still ranks very highly in my opinion. It was amazing how he went past decent horses like they were standing...
Cirrus on track for the Champion it would appear -...
I think so, yes. The idea that the St James' Palace is evidence of a short straight be unsuitable is ludicrous (IMO).
Very true!
The ridiculousness of the point still stands however. This horse changes gear like no 10f horse in history. He can either wind it up or explode as required.
How unfortunate for Nick, he appears to have missed watching the QEII and the Queen Anne.
I think he has a big chance in the King George for sure. And if he wins the King George, then going straight to the Gold Cup is a no brainer. I think he wants the trip to be honest.
I wouldn't be so certain. The last I heard was that he will be aimed at the King George and Gold Cup only. He enters considerations for both races at this stage as far as I'm concerned.
Riverside Theatre. I suppose taking him out of the race is pushing it but his run should be forgiven for sure.
Of the Gigginstown lot, I'd quite like to see First Lieutenant come over for the KG, especially given his preference for better ground. He's much more likely to get a surface approaching good at...
Hear hear, Maruco.
By far the most interesting thing:
"After that we'll probably take him to England for something, bring home again and then go back for the big one."
King George?
There could easily be a...
