Just trying to keep everyone apprised of developments, Brendan. :)
Currently sunny intervals and 15C racecourse side of Cleeve Hill.
Kim's Tweet tonight:
"He goes on Tuesday @cheltenhamraces"
Who gives a monkey's what he blogged yesterday.
Kim Bailey confirms First Flow will run in the Supreme.
The plot thickens........
If FF swerves the Festival, he swerves it.
My bets are £1996/£11 and £175/£7, so no huge damage done if I don't get a run.
I sent Kim Bailey a tweet about First Flow, asking if there had been a change of heart re a Supreme run for First Flow. This was his reply:
Will be entered @KelsoRacecourse as planned and will...
Fu*cking sick.
This was Kim Bailey after his last win. Seems less about the ground, and more about saving the horse for the future.......which probably works in favour of him running, because I reckon KB can't...
Expected ground conditions.
I backed FF Win (181) and Place (25) on 24th January, and wrote it off 48hrs later.
I’d be delighted to get a run, but they seemed pretty sure they were going to swerve the Festival.
Cracking Smart is armchair-viewing in the Bartlett.
Locked.
I would agree with that, DH. Hopefully no ill-effects from his fall at Leopardstown.
Call Me Lord is not a novice, Danny - he won two juvenile hurdles in France last season. There is some kind of cut-off date for retaining novice status into the following season, but I’m not sure...
Thought he struggled to pick-up the bridle myself (had a decent bet on him). Think he'd be run off his feet in the Supreme, based on that outing, to be honest.
The Lawlor Hurdle at Naas this weekend, is a belter - even in Samcro's absence.
Any news of Sayar?
Trip too short for Cracking Smart - especially so off a dawdling pace. Hopefully still progressive over 3m.
Hard to knock ND - did everything he had to do, and not much more.
Albert Bartlett trial at Cheltenham on Saturday is an absolute belter. First four in the betting for the Festival race are all entered-up.
Hopefully Cracking Smart goes, and demolishes them....
No other winners of either novice event in the last 10 years (how long have they been going?), littlelad.
Gigginstown are awash with some very-promising middle-distance and staying novices, and have plenty of ammo for the Ballymore and Albert Bartlett, without looking to Samcro.......who seems the only...
Cracking Smart entered in the Monksfield Novice Hurdle over 2m4f at Navan this weekend, as is Samcro, though the latter also holds the Royal Bond entry the week after.
Props, Perp.
In my defence, I can barely recall what happened two weeks ago.......or race distances for that matter!
EC1 might have been a booster for Altior too, but DO is the one I remember first going strong on him.
I think there's a fair amount of guesswork involved in novice ratings this early in the season, Len. Some are boosted by reputation, price-tag, trainer or owner-profile, and others under-rated for...
