State Man was a worthy Champion Hurdler. He isn't Constitution Hill but he compares favourably with most of the other champions of the last thirty years.

The ground on the chase course was yielding to soft. Either yielding or soft was in the going description for nine of his previous eleven...

Given how close Chosen Witness finished to Dancing City and Slade Steel he has been very disappointing this season. He's the only horse from last season's Cheltenham bumper not to have won since.
