Can I assume that The Daily Telegraph Festival Trohpy Chase (DAY 3) is the old Cathcart?

So many good 2 1/2 milers around - Flagship Uberalles, Native Upmanship, Moscow Flyer.

Can't wait to see the Cross-country chase, cracking course and i'm probably one of the few who really enjoy seeing horses jump proper fences.

Could one of the older members remind me of the conditions of the old Spa hurdle? Was it a festival race?

Martin, I think Isio is the king of 2m4f chasers. NU is in the twilight of his career, and I would be surprised if MF didnt contest the champion chase, regardless of what happens at Christmas time. All will become clearer after the Tingle Creek.

I think the Spa Hurdle became The Stayers Hurdle. The Spa Hurdle was then run at the New Year meeting for a bit.

I think you need a similarly good memory to hark back to Flagship Uberalles !

At present i'm a big fan of Moscow Flyer for that race and maybe Mister McGoldrick for the Champion Chase each way. Other horse i've latched on to is Kalca Mome, still not heard back from Coral's or whoever i e-mailed about a price on him for the Champion Chase.

Think that NU was the best 2 1/2m chaser for a few years about 2 or so years back and IMO Flagship Uberalles is on the down slope now but can still hack it in the big races, younger horses have caught up and overtaken him though when it comes to Cheltenham, Sandown and Aintree.

I refuse to work the second week of March - on the basis that, for me, it is a religious holiday.

I usually have the afternoons off for cheltenham - but next time I wont be working in that job - so I can just tell wherever I go that I already have a holiday booked for that week - I also refuse to work GN day - and as I am in charge of the rotas I used to start there and work around it!! If I am working in a bookies as a stopgap before starting my new job I might not get to Cheltenham - but we are intending to run the racing club horses there, so as an owner, I sould be OK. ( and if we have runners on the other days then I can get in free.... <_< )

YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
